    Hi,

After some advice from anyone who has gone to Vegas in a group and then gone off treavelling the west coast. We are getting married early April and there are 20 adults and four children in the group.
What is the best way of communicating with everyone as most are staying Mgm whilst others are staying Excalibur ?
Was thinking of buying some cheap mobiles if possible or sim cards. Any ideas ?
I am travelling up the west coast for a couple of weeks afterwards, any ideas on obtaining GPS. my tom tom doesnt hold an sd card so i dont think i can download a map , all advice appreciated.

    Thanks

I think if you do a search of the Vegas 2010 thread for mobile phones, you should find loads of info as quite a few people talked about it last year

my flights for june/july direct with virgin cost £557 back in sept 2010 now look a bargain, they are at £890 at this time. looks like you should book early.

I paid £565 with virgin back in July/August ready for June 3rd....
Cant believe how mega expensive its gone!!
In November, i was looking at 1 week indirect package deals with the 3 big brokers (ebookers, expedia, opodo) and i was finding deals for around £540 for the northern strip hotels and £580+ for better ones....
Booked my mum on Friday (ready for June 2nd) to fly with AA (not the breakdown service before anyone asks! :rotfl:) and staying at the Trop, and had to fly her out on the Thurs as opposed to Fri/Sat as the cost was coming in at over £700 each excluding resort fee!

I'm just wondering if the supply and demand thing is on a roll at the mo as people are in holiday buying mode pushing up prices ???

Go to Walmart and buy four or five PAYG mobiles (based on the deal that they had on a year or so ago) for about $30 each which includes $20 of airtime credit on the SIM.

The problem we found was trying to buy topup an existing SIM with a card at a UK address. So also buy your topups at Walmart while youre there if $20 wont be enough.

Alternatively BBM on a Blackberry or email on a smartphone.

also the daily resort fees include local phone calls so should be able to call each others hotel while in the rooms

Good spot penny. Both MGM/resort tax hotels. Should also include free wifi as well.

Couple of dates to be aware of that will send MGM room rates skywards.

12th March Cotto v Mayorga WBA super light middleweight title fight
7th May Pacquiao V Mosley WBO welterweight title fight.

MGM announced they sold 16,000 fight tickets for the pacman already, minimum room prices a tad shy of $250 at the moment.

Palm, mountain has rubbish greens. 8-10 is well enough for transport. Give them a ring first and negotiate, they also have an excellent clubhouse, go hungry. Tip, take plenty of balls, they have trimmed back the fairways to save water (all Vegas courses have done this in the last 2 years) so there is no rough, of you are off of the fairway you are straight onto rock and the ball just pings off into the ether lol.
Just a thought, the OB sports card is $200 and allows the holder to get cheap (like $40) rounds for the whole of the party, might work out cheaper but I am sure with an ENGLISH accent you will get a good deal.

Ahem, Scottish accent but i get what you mean! :D

Will give them a call and try to sort something out

Also May 28th is UFC 130 at the MGM which I'd imagine will push prices up.

Good news for me though being a huge UFC fan. :T:j

That might even be better as their director of golf is Irish;)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
