    we went last week in feb and on my wall front of me I have a photo of me and mates wearing coats in the snow at the grand canyon!
    Vegas was a tad cold I didnt brave shorts just 3/4 lengths a couple of times. Bearing in mind even if outside is warm it can be very cold in the casinos under the air con

    Less than 2 weeks until we fly now :j Can't wait.

    I'm having the same dilemma about what clothing to take and what the temps will be like...I was thinking a few dresses that I can dress down for the day with cardis etc and up for night....but then I have the problem of shoes...I hate wearing dresses without heels but I don't think I've ever worn heels in Vegas yet...my feet really couldn't take it :o

    Anyway, has anyone eaten at Serendipity? We meant to try it on our last trip but never got around to it - just wondered if it was worth trying this time :)

    we like Serendipity - but can see why some think it's overpriced for what it is.
    Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

    Why don't you just keep tabs on the weather online a couple of days before you go?? At the moment it is in the low 20's during the day but dips below 0 when the sun goes down, so that gives you some idea now. This time of year it gets dark about 6 so there are only a few hours of quite warm weather. We went last February and it was quite warm in the sun so we sat out for a couple of hours while having coffee and ended up with sunburn!!
    The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

    my flights for june/july direct with virgin cost £557 back in sept 2010 now look a bargain, they are at £890 at this time. looks like you should book early.

    that's a great price... am looking at booking for July and VA direct flights are £648pp. seeing as we don't want to do indirect flights, I'm thinking this is a pretty decent price (this time last week the same flights were 750pp)

    Afternoon all,

    Does anyone know off the top of their head if any of the nicer hotels have private dining rooms? We will be a party of 10 for our wedding and had planned on having Society Cafe @ Encore (purely for the Cowboy Ribeye and mouthwatering banana splits!!) - I've emailed and got the back of the restaurant but now there are more guests I would really like something private.

    Cuisine = steaks/modern european.
    Cost = not really a consideration, just want somewhere nice.
    Location = Strip

    Big thanks as always :)

    Hi,
    Were getting married beginning of April and are having a reception in a private room in the stratosphere, it is overlooking the strip near to the top floor.
    A lot of hotels have private rooms but it depends on what price you want to pay.
  • Hi,

    After some advice from anyone who has gone to Vegas in a group and then gone off treavelling the west coast. We are getting married early April and there are 20 adults and four children in the group.
    What is the best way of communicating with everyone as most are staying Mgm whilst others are staying Excalibur ?
    Was thinking of buying some cheap mobiles if possible or sim cards. Any ideas ?
    I am travelling up the west coast for a couple of weeks afterwards, any ideas on obtaining GPS. my tom tom doesnt hold an sd card so i dont think i can download a map , all advice appreciated.

    Thanks

    Sat Nav, buy one over there, Frys electrical in Vegas next to the town centre mall is showing Tom Toms for $81.52 plus tax. Obviously not top of the range but certainly the cheapest way to get one with US maps. Certainly cheaper then hiring one with a car for 2 weeks.

    I've found it difficult to get pay as you go without a US address, I'm sure there are others here who can give advice.
