Thanks Vikki
Have you stayed at Polo towers? If so, how long does it take to walk to the strip and where do you "pop" out at (nearest casino). Just wondering if its worth the extra $250 compared to Desert Rose. Not too bothered about not having a casino as it stops me feeding those pesky slots 24/7!
I haven't stayed there no, just walked past the place a lot when we stayed at MGM. If you search for say "polo towers to strip" on the Las Vegas Trip Advisor forum there is quite a bit of info about it - looks like you would come out near PH after only a few minutes walk. You'd probably be quicker getting to the strip than we were from our room at the MGM which was the looongest walk ever!
As far as whether it's worth the extra money, only you can decide, I was just making a couple of suggestions to give you some more choice. If you're happy with the Desert Rose, stick with it - the price you have is amazingly cheap for a week and it's not like you're a first timer to Vegas and don't understand where everything is etc. I've never heard anyone here stay at either so whatever you decide maybe you can pop back and give us a report on what the place was like.

MayRe location of Polo Towers, it's less than a 2 min walk to the strip. It's just behind the Hawaiian Marketplace. We pass it if we are staying at the Carriage House and heading south. You come out between Tix4Tonight at the HM and the row of shops which has McDonald's and Fatburger at the other end.0

MarchWe are 6 adults all been to Vegas quite a few times before and are currently booked in Desert Rose. We paid $1200 (400 per couple)total for the week for 3 apartments. I know its off strip but was chosen for the apartment style for the seperate sitting area. I have read reviews about the credit card issue so have been a little put off.
If it's mainly the credit card issue that is putting you off, what about looking into a pre-paid card you could load up with just enough to cover your stay? Or see if you could pre-pay for the reservations? My reading of the CC issue was with people handing their card over locally.
If DR appeals to you and the price is good (which it sounds like it is) may be it's worth finding a way to make it work that doesn't worry you.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
