    Howdy folks
have booked 2 weeks off in september this year. Would like to visit Las Vegas and New York. Am hoping to get a direct non stop flight from Manchester. Not sure to do Vegas or N.York first and how many nights at each ? What do you think would be best ?When would be the best/cheapest time to book flights and hotels and which companys are best for booking 2 stop flights? Any advice would be appreciated. :)

Going back to the Comps stuff... I'm gonna be going in as many casinos as i can to see what its all about and so on, but as am staying in the Trop, i signed up for the players card already....
Now, when i go for 1 week in June, i got the normal deluxe room, but was gonna hand over $30 sarnie in hope of getting a strip view, or even a big room :)
But in terms of being noticed, etc etc, if me and the missis sit down on 2 slot machines for a couple of hours, how do the casino know were playing ? do you enter your player card number in a machine first or somthing ???
(reading peeps posts, am hoping i can get some of this comp stuff, or even offered a bigger room if i spend enough... limiting myself to $150 per day gambling)

Yup you put your card in and it registers your play to that card. The only people that will notice you in the cheap seats are the cocktail waitresses.....if youre lucky :)

Your $150 a day.....say you chuck in $150 and you get $149 out. Then put $149 in and get $148 out. etc etc and all day long......you end up with say $10,000 of "coin in" which is what they base comps on.....not the $150 you started with.

    sounds a plan!
Am more of a table player (BJ, 3 card poker and Roulette)... oh well, at least if the waitresses notice me for giving me free drinks (am guessing $3 tip each time would keep her coming back ?), i'd be happy with that.... not sure am gonna catch the attention of a pit boss with my small spending!

only 10 days to go until my first trip (for 4 nights) to vegas.

Fly to LA on the 19th with a stop at the Hollywood Hills hotel (as recommend on this very thread) - realy looking forward to our evening in LA - then jump in the car on the 20th and drive to Vegas (with a couple of stops on route)

so in prep for Vegas - have done some work on the basic strategy for black jack (normally getting above 90% acuracy now)

now doing the work on video poker (10 day free trial will lead me up to the trip nicely)

Done my restauraunt.com deals so will be eating at B B Kings, Gaylord India and have the obligitory stripburger voucher.

Booked way in advance for Penn and Teller (so unfortunatly paid full price) for front row seats - its my treat to me though.

Got the celebrety spa suite in MGM for £395 for 4 nights (and I am now obsessed with Cannon and Ball being the celeb's included in the suite and will complain if they are not!)

And have booked a romantic meal at the Bellagio "Prime Steakhouse" for the last night for Mrs Fluff and I (Cannon and Ball can join us if they want - but I am not paying for them before they get any big ideas!)

The booking sit down meals in advance is important to us as over the last year Mrs Fluff and I have lost over 6 stone each and we know that buffets are our enemy!

Now just off to join the shopping mall VIP things so I can get some discount for the inevitable "must buys"

any other tips gratefully received - hoorah!

I recommend stopping at the Primm Outlet Mall. Has one of the few Hollister outlets there.

indeed we will - Mrs Fluff is organising the short road trip

so far it looks like Breakfast in LA - then drive to San Dimas purely so I can have my photo taken doing a "Bill and Ted" out side the high school.

Then off to Vegus stopping at:
    - a "old american Dinner" that Mrs Fluff has earmarked
    - the worlds largest themonitor
    - Primm for the outlet stores

Ariving in vegas - I will be playing a Tom Jones CD - fact!

If the old american diner (one "n") is Peggy Sues then you will love it. Just a minute off of the freeway.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
