They came as a door to door marketing with lot of offers and collected 89/= and confirmed a lot of services.

Went to do the MOT and gave the car in the morning. Around 5:30 in the evening, they call to tell me that it is going to cost another £400 pounds if I need to pass the MOT. They close the shop at 6pm and I rushed back there, I was upset, but I collected the car back and the failure certificate.

Went to another garage and did all the work they suggested for £67.50 ??? Dagenham has printed that the re-test is free and they confirmed that on the phone and I went back there on the appointed time. They say that they cant find the booking and I have to pay 50% of the MOT fees again ???

I haven't come across a rip off like this before and the worst in customer service. Their service department at 319 The Hyde in Edgware Road... is a no go zone.

Venting off my steam here, I dont know what else to do. Atleast no one falls for this again.

The door to door sales arm of this bogus Dagenham showroom is called Footprint. When they knock your door, it all looks good on paper, but its the best rip off you can look for.

Wouldn’t it be a good idea to have a thread on which garages offer MOT’s at reduced prices and also provide a good service.
Perhaps if these garages can be identified it will be an incentive for the others to reduce their prices!

The test centre for County Durham is at the Service Direct depot, St Johns Road, Meadowfield Industrial Estate, Durham, DH7 8YQ. Tel 0191 386 2714. I found them very quick and efficient, takes about an hour. Cost £35.

Does anyone know of a test centre in manchester, near blackley if there is one? It is'nt on the list of centres

I have just had my mot done for the 2nd year in a row at the tower hamlets testing centre. I had a call to say it failed on the front tyres and they could do me two new ones fitted for £42 bargin all done by end of the day. also when i got home I realised that they has pushed out the dent in the boot all this and soooo polite would recomend.

Following Flashfly's useful post (reply #189) I also took my car to Bury's testing centre. The fee for cars is now £46.00. They were were friendly and advised me about work that would need to be done in the near future (worn brakes) even though it wasn't MOT-failing at the moment. I called them yesterday and they fitted me in today! Top notch service, highly recommended!
