Well done dee - you have taken a massive step forward in getting that lot down. I was in a very similar place to you around seven months ago (22st 6lb) and I understand where you are coming from with your comments. On my weigh in last wed - 17st 6lb - I'm still quite a big girl - but we can do this together and keep each other on the straight and narrow (hopefully getting narrower) :rotfl: If I can give you any help dee just get back to me and I will give you whatever support I can. Like you my OH and family are very supportive considering we have been here many times before. Good luck dee we can do it.

    Thanks, blue _eyed_girl

you have had an incrediable weight loss - what diet have you been following.?

I have treated myself to a podometer so I can keep a check on my steps.

I will be treating tomorrow as my official starting date.(cos that's when my shopping will be delivered).

Keep up the good work everyone:D

Thanks dee. I have done various diet plans in the past, many with great success, but I have great difficulty in maintaining my losses and the pounds soon pile back on with extras. This time I am just trying to eat healthily, bulking meals up with plenty of vegetables and salad. Keeping and eye on portion size and changing my plate size for a slightly smaller one is helping as well. I still have the odd 'naughty' - in fact I have just had a G and T - but instead of the fancy olive breads left over from xmas I've had a couple of chilli rice crackers (30 odd cals each). I don't want to get into the whole counting thing as I find it can sometimes feel as though it is taking over my life - I do weigh rice, potatoes and pasta. Once I get down to where I want to be (weight-wise) I will just carry on doing what I'm doing now - and just alter my treats to suit. That's my theory behind it anyway.

I didn't have the confidence or stamina to go to the gym when I first started, but my gp referred me about four months ago. Once I got over the initial embarrassment, I can actually say that I enjoy going and meet up with some other ladies and its become a bit of a social thing - doesn't it sound sad. :rotfl:

Let us know how things are going and just GO FOR IT GIRL.

Well done everyone on losses and hello to anyone new :j

I've been good today, fruit salad for breakfast, salad sandwich for lunch and then roast pork for dinner with lots of veggies and apple sauce. Exercise wise, I managed 20 minutes walking and a few exercises for my shoulder, so that's not too bad. Tomorrow I'll be walking for around an hour to and from places and will also get in an extra walk at lunchtime.

  • Hi everyone......Not adding myself to this yet till after the knee ops but anyway I am 12 stone 10 pounds and am only 4ft 11in!!! Anyway reason for posting is to say ....has anyone spoken to their GP about weight loss. I was 15 and half stone a couple of years ago and GP referred me to see weight loss nurse (well thats what I call her) ....(no actually I called her Fat nurse!!) Anyway they put me on Orlistat which is the heavier dose of Alli. It works!! I lost over 2 and a half stone. The weight loss then stopped and thats why I was taken off it. It does stop you from eating any fatty foods as anyone who has tried it will know about the not so nice side effects!!!
Thought I would mention it as it does help you to change your diet and keep eating those foods even when you stop the Orlistat/Alli

    Much Love Lisi xx

    Good day to you all,xx
  • Fab news folks - I weighed myself yesterday and I was 15.4, I weighed myself this morning (although I know you shouldn't weigh evey day) and I was 12.9. That can't be right I thought, so I got back on and I was 12.6. I think the magic weight loss fairies came to visit.

    Or perhaps I need a new battery:rotfl:

Well I only had 400 calories by dinner time yesterday and then was on here doing surveys and only got a survey for KFC!!! Argh! So OH said he would treat us all to KFC! I did well though and only had small fries and a couple pieces of boneless chicken!
So today back on it and I am on a mission! Good luck for this week all! xx
