I only find calorie counting easy if you eat a lot of packaged food - this is why I had trouble with Rosemary Conley. I would stick with what you know.

I forgot to pop in yesterday - I had a total of 25 points out of a possible 32. I haven't touched one of my 49 bonus points yet so I feeling quite happy. I'm even happier this morning as I FEEL lighter! I haven't weighed myself, but I seem to have a spring in my step that wasn't there before. :j

    Day four today.

Just a thought - Danone activia are doing a free online two week diet plan - it goes on longer than two weeks if you want it to. It also gives gentle exercise ideas and recipes. It looks really good I've signed up as I hoped it would give me a bit more motivation for the first couple of weeks - it seems to help. It's called the Danone Activia TLC plan if you google it. Oh and you can win prizes too - more incentive to join in ;)

I calorie count but as Elysia said only good for packaged food! I dont count fruit or veg and dont eat mash potato cos thats a killer! I try to stay between 1200 and 1500 calories a day but more so at the 1200 side! For breakfast I have WW yoghurt and 50g of raisens which is roughly 200 calories depending on flavour of yoghurt! Lunch I had salad and some turkey ham or cooked turkey/ chicken something like that and at night whatever I have I have loadsa veg with it! Have bought all Go Ahead bars and WW bars etc to snack on and snack on fruitpots and fruit etc! Started last Sunday and weigh in tomorrow morning so will see if I am doing it right or not! lol I find that as I only eat Chicken and Turkey meatwise I find it difficult to follow certain plans!

  • Finally feel better from the cold so started my workout dvd and your shape on wii done about 45 mins all in said I had burnt around 250 cals :j:j Im going to weigh in at 2 week intervals as when I do it weekly it disheartens me when there is no change:o
  • Just read the last couple of pages, and it's good to see so many motivated people. I will confess to not having been paticularly "diety" this past week, because what with being frugal, I've not bought any food.

However if I have to do the meal planning thing, then they might as well be slimming meals as any other sort (I might have said that before). This whole money saving/frugal/thrifty thing is a complete lifestyle change for me and I'm not entirely convinced I'll manage to get it all balanced.

Thanks to Susan 42 (I think) for testing out the soup, I'm going to have to invest in a jar of pickles now. There may come a day when I've grown and pickled my own, but until that day comes I'll shall have to spend some money.

My weigh in day with SW is Monday, so I'll let you know whether I manage to lose weight this week..

Hello all, have being trying to keep up with this thread. Not managed to start my diet yet :o There is still too much in the way of chocolate and biscuits in the house from Christmas - as an example, the children still have 12 unopened selection boxes between them - unopened because I can't fit any more chocolate into the salad draw in the fridge.

How is a girl supposed to diet and cut back under that level of temptation!!!

Have been looking at the Couch 2 5K program and as I am still looking for a training partner, I have started Day 1 week 1 today on my air walker :rotfl:

Well it will give me a start ad when I find a partner I will hopefully be in a bit better shape. Well done to you all with weight losses so far, I hope to join your ranks in the not too distant future :o

  • :TAfternoon Ladies , just caught up with everyone i think.....a very fast moving thread.

Well today TOTM so that scuppers my weigh in as I always gain weight bloated with fat tum!!
Was to be run day but tum in to much pain so pursaded hubby to go for a 30 min walk which he did I am so proud of him as he has balance problems and uses a stick(too stubborn to use wheelchair ) and he is up to 4,000 steps with his pedometer.

Bought the mail for the WW info it seems good but i am far too frugal to pay any money out to go to a class so may try to buy a recipe book I am veggies so would be interested if lots of veggie meals.

Goal for me we are going on hols 4th April and end of year we are getting a convaladation ceremony in church which means getting back in wedding dress and I intend to look stunning and slim( we have been having anulment of my 1st marriage with catholic church and finally i am all anulled:j:j:j:j but as we had civil wedding not reconised by god or the church so i get to do it all over again)

For those of you doing the couch25k have you checked out this site You can download this guys programs as either a podcast or MP3 file and you basically just do what he tells you. There's a different one for each week - I've used them and find them really good.

Welsh Poppy that really interesting - I have never heard of a Convaladation. I don't have a practising faith but OH was brought up catholic but he's always wanted us to get married outside (on the banks of a Loch) but we can't get a priest to marry us because the grounds aren't sanctified and TBH it's one of the main reasons we haven't gone ahead with it yet... but now you've got me thinking that maybe we could speak to the local priest about this. You are a STAR! Congratulations on your annulment too - ooh it must be exciting

    PS I'm sooooo hungry!!!!

I agree Peppop, I downloaded them and that is what I used for the first session today - time went really quickly too (even though the music wasn't really to my taste)

Yeah I know what you mean - I find some of the music on the first one a bit crackly too. I remember reading a while back (don't ask me where) but there was one that you could use your own music if you had an Ipod - if that's any help?
