:hello: Hello to our new ladies, welcome aboard.

More fabby weight losses :T Lets hope we can all keep up the good work, its great to have so much support for each other. Feel free to share your hints and tips cos even something simple might just be the secret to success.

I managed to get to Morries today for the ww meals on offer, the choice was limited at my store but still bought a few and some desserts jumped into the trolley too :D Stocked up at the market with fruit, veg and salad stuff, plenty chicken and fish in the freezer so I will meal plan this week as well as counting (old ww) points.

Today I did my -200cal exercise on the Wii so quite pleased about that. Food good again today
Skinny Latte - Salad Roll yogurt 2 satsumas - ww meal & extra veg, jelly oranges & yogurt - Apple. & hot choccie for supper :D

    Hi marg2k8,

Do you belong to Quidco? They are a cashback site which at the moment have an offer on giving you a £32.95 discount on a 3 months WW membership AND £30 cashback. That means you are effectively being PAID about to join. Definately worth a go!!!

    Al xx

As far as I can see the Quidco offer is just for WW online. I think that I need the push of being weighed to make me more disciplined. I have seen the vouchers on the WW website for Join for free, but if anyone knows of any vouchers or similar from Quidco or elsewhere that would save me more, then I would appreciate it.

I gather that when you go to meetings, it will be suggested that you buy a WW calculator and books etc. Does anyone know how much the calculator etc cost and if it is possible to buy them cheaper online than at the meetings?

Well done everyone so far on losses and hello to everyone new.

I have bought myself a Wii. My local Tesco had a special offer on the black Wii with Wii Fit Plus and balance board and Wii sports all for £198 plus Clubcard points. I decided it was too good an offer to turn down.

Unfortunately I managed to partially dislocate my shoulder this morning (not with the Wii-that's still in it's box) and though it is a recurring injury I'm going to have to take it easy for a couple of weeks as walking hurts (the shoulder moves even if your arm does not) let alone any real exercise, so I may have to readjust my targets.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome :)

Today I had half a grapefruit for breakfast
prawn wrap with loads of salad for lunch
a ladle of game casserole for dinner
snacks were 2 satsumas, an apple and a banana
and a small ice-cream cornet mid afternoon :o

Exercises- used the bottom stair for steps, managed 30 before I had to give in! Really pleased as yesterday it was only 14. I also remembered to change feet half-way this time
Tried a few sit-ups but they made me giddy so tried stomach crunches and got on a lot better with those, managed 8, tomorrow I'll aim for ten
Also washed the kitchen floor on hands and knees, does that count? ;)

Re the 7lb weight loss between Christmas Day and 5th Jan, I was given a set of scales which recorded me as 12 stone  on 25/12, and 11 1/2 stone on 5/01. I do appreciate it may not seem much to some but with my (lack of) height and health it's got to go. The scales also record bmi and wmi but not being very tech I haven't a clue how to set them up.

Tomorrow I have the vac's (which apparently may not make me feel too good for a day or so) for my holiday, so will do all the exercising I can beforehand.

Feeling very positive so far. Good luck everyone, keep on keeping on :)

May I join please? I'm going on holiday 4 weeks today and would really like to lose at least 7lb before then (lost 7lb already since Christmas) - and another 3 stone :o when I get back

I'm 11st 7lb, ideal weight 8st 7lb  and 5 feet tall, or short, whichever way you see it :D
Have COPD so any weight loss is going to be beneficial but can only exercise in short sessions, say 5/10 mins at a time if not too strenuous

I don't go to the gym and not on WW or similar programme as I can't afford to pay if I have to miss weeks, so just eating sensibly, exercising at home, and doing more housework rather than watching rubbish television most of the day.

I'll be a little lighter and the house a lot cleaner, so a double whammy :D

Thats brilliant on the 7lbs since xmas, - got to apologise as I din't know COPD is. - but can fully see where your coming from re exercise, _ I've got a dodgy back, hip, spine, and knees, - and stuck on crutches to keep me upright..... a gym ...I'd be their best customer - never be able to go!

A big hi to all the new ladies, can't believe how fast the thread has taken off.
Now we've got a big group, just thinking re the named post, was to put our goals on there, and weigh ins we can keep on the thread and at the end of the year, have a complete update, we 're all deserve a massive treat by then,

I've booked an appointment nxt week to have chat with GP, and ask to be referred again to dietician, chickened out the last 2 times with excuses, I've got tummy bug, I'll rearrange, or got dd off school can't possibly transfer germs.

But being inactive for so long, they can point me in the right direction, last yr I was referred to the weight lost team at our hospital with a view to a gastric bypass - thou I dodn't want to go that far down the line, but then 2 months later had letter from hosp cancelling the appointment as lack of funding, never heard anything since.
I don't want to go down that route, I need to do it for me, my BMI is over extreme obsese, I should be about 2 foot taller!
Think my kick up the rear, is hitting 40 this yr, and hopefully I'd of passed my next OU course and that will get me a degree, so its a long haul.
    xx

Ps - beds calling, so will update list 2mor xx

Morning - just popping in to say Hi, I don't weigh in till next Monday, but a sneaky peek at the scales say I am doing ok, even tho I blipped yesterday. But it is only the first week and I am well know for not lasting past a couple of weeks. Time to feel good is when I have passed more than a couple of months on the diet and am "behaving" lol. I want to have lost quite a bit by April, as that is when I go back out on the wards for the the first time this year. Be so nice if my uniform trousers were baggy this year, it can get so hot on the wards.

I am doing the Cambridge diet and think it would be easier if I didn't have a sense of smell. I don't feel that hungry unless I smell food e.g. made hubby's snap up for work this morning and made him cheese (argh) and tomato sauce sandwiches, the smell was divine! But I resisted and had a mug of tea instead. Oh and thinking of food can set me off so I am trying not to watch any cooking on tv or read any receipes on the forums.

Hope everyone has a Gud un!

marg2k -n the sun had a voucher in this week for weightwatchers - register for free and 1st free class, worth about £15 at class

WOW LADIES , not sure if we have ant gents, (3 joined my class monday for any spying here lol) I digress, did you see the programme last nite at 10.30 pm BBC1...it was called 10 things to do before....if you didnt it was excellent, im going to watch it again on iplayer, it was about different ways to eat,

the thing that caught my eye was they did a trial on things thhat keep you fuller for longer . THey had two meals exactly the same ingrediants. One was served as is...and one was made into a soup. The soup kept you fuller for over two hours longer.

What struck me also is that weight watchers new plan says to eat more lean protein and thats what this programme said as well

If anyone cant watch it I`ll write the 10 points they made when I watch it again, really interesting
