NEW THRIFY GIFTY GIRLS WEIGHT LOSS thread 2011

Wow Blue Eyes Girl - a fab loss for you this year, which has really motivated me! Can I please join the challenge - I will weigh in the morning. I need to lose about 5 stone.
After failing at diets for the last 20 years and trying everyone in the book, going forward I will be "healthy eating" and hopefully will never use the D work again. I will also be using Paul McKenna's hypnosis CD to help me along. (Was hypnotised in Oct 10 and it was fab - had 2 sessions and was off naughty food for about 3 weeks, but my old habits took over, however, mind over matter is definately the way forward for me and the hypnotist buried "Diets dont work" in my mind quite deeply that I wont be calorie counting/ points counting etc ever again I hope!!! - so liberating)
Anyway, great thread, really looking forward to getting to know everyone and getting great tips along the way. Hope we all get to our goal in 2011 xxx0 -
Wow blue eyed girl that is amazing. I need to buy myself a smaller plate cos we only have one size at home, but thet are not too big. I want one of those diet plate, with the areas printed on them but they are so expensive

So sorry - I haven't read today's posts, I will catch up tomorrow I promise.
Went to weigh in - not as bad as I thought - by over a stone and a half to be precise. I thought I was nearer 18 stone mark, but I'm 16 st 3.5.
Next weigh in is on Monday so only 5 days, but I wanted to join today while I was still eager to go. I bought the new calculator, mag and half the shop of snack bars but they're for DD1 as well.
Having done the points (regularly) over 12 years - It's going to be different doing the Pro-Points as I had the points of everything stuck in my head - I'm now going to have to check EVERYTHING!!!
Will catch up and update on excercise tomorrow - Night all.xxxI :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Many thanks for your comments Liz - yes I am quite chuffed with how the weight is shifting, but as you can see from my size I could probably do with losing at least another five stones. I try not to think that far ahead though as it can be quite disheartening - as soon as I set myself a target, I seem to go off the rails. I am not following a particular diet plan as such, just eating healthily, watching portion size and introducing excercise about four months ago (not done gym for nearly a month - back tomorrow night huffing and puffing):rotfl:
I must admit I am delighted that I have come across this thread and I hope we can give each other all the encouragement we need to become BIG LOSERS in 2011.

Good Mornin ladies, today was my first weigh in after a fabulous week of healthy eating and I have lost -4lbs:j:j Thats just what I needed to spur me on, I have also put £3 in a tin for a later date.
Will update later when I have time to read all the posts, have a good day.

One tip I was given when I started my healthy eating regime (7 months ago) was to use a smaller plate at meal times. If you use a larger plate and reduce the amount of food on it - you automatically feel cheated and are convinced you will still be hungry. You do feel better sitting down to a plate that is full rather than something that looks like a half-sized portion!
I have to admit it really is working for me - at the beginning of June I was wearing a size 30/32  :o Now I am buying size 22 - lost around 5 stones (less the damage done over the hols). Will update you tomorrow with my results.
Wow!! Thats an amazing loss!! You should be very proud!!
The smaller plate idea is great, Will try that tomorrow. Thanks Txx£365 in 365 days Dec10-Dec11 Member #36 £92/365.Member of the Thrifty Gifty - Money making and Organised for Christmas 2011 boardsGrocery Challenge Jan £337.17/£400Feb £374.24/£250:o March £27.04/£3000 -

Morning all! I apparently need to weigh myself again! A friend called over last night after he had been to the gym and weighed himself on my scales and put on 6lbs between the gym and my house! He thinks mt scales are out! So will weigh in Tesco or boots when in town tomorrow! On the plus side I will have lost 6lbs already!!!:xmassmile**New** Thrifty Gifty Money Making for Christmas and all occasions 2012**:xmassmileMember No. 11 of Happy Chappy's Clip Strip Club!
