Hi ladies, can I join up please?

I need to lose about 1.5 stone. I have been ill all over Christmas and New year, so as well as poor eating I've done no exercise at all, in fact I've hardly left the sofa, and it hasn't been good for my waistline :(

Ideally I'd get started today, but I know that I won't be able to eat healthily until I pack the kids back off to school on Thursday morning. Then the temptation of baking fairy cakes etc will be gone.

I've decided I'll start as of Thursday, and weigh myself once I've done the school run. I'm going to generally try to eat healthily rather than following a set diet, as I don't have the money to join WW/SW etc. I'm also going to attempt to spend 30 mins on the Wii fit every day.

I hope everybody on here is doing well so far :)

geogiegirl - i tried that recipe with the pickled onion it was absolutely gorgeous , i know how you lose weight though it acts like a laxative

poohpaals - dont worry about that weight, i was that when i started my diet, nearly died but in 12 weeks i lost 2 1/2 stone so just plug away , a little at a time

wd tracey and flourgirl on your weight losses. Perhaps I`ll put coins in a jar when i lose, and treat myself

chocolatepenny - the new weight watchers diet is a lot easier than the old one, its easier to understand , you just have to forget the old one completely. Fruit and veg are free on it. And they like you to eat more protein and fibre. I get 29points a day and 49 a week as a safety net. I usually bacon and mushroom butties for brekfast, soup and roll for lunch (havent time for anything else being on here all the time) and a cook a meal in the evening with a dessert. Give me a shout if you want any info x

I didn't realise it'd changed. I used to do WW a couple of years ago and lost half a stone in 4 weeks, but I was always so hungry that I gave up. It sounds a lot more filling now though if you can eat all that in a day. I might think about doing that after all if it won't work out too expensive.

Although I'm not starting my weight loss until Thursday I have been good today and just given the kids chocolate without having any myself!

Right, well I weighed in today and I'm 15 stone 6lbs, so I need to lose at least 4 stone, preferably more. I'm going to try and be down a stone by the end of February and to motivate myself, I will save £5 per week and when I reach my goal I'll buy myself some new clothes.

I'm heavier than I thought I would be, but determined to lose it. Tomorrow I'm off for a walk around the small lake and then in the afternoon I'm working.

I had fish and vegetables for dinner tonight, whilst lunch was soup and fruit to follow.

  • Evening everyone

Really good to see we have lots of new members and most seem to be getting started - tomorrow for me
 It will be about 3/4 weeks since I have been to gym class and officially weighed. I still have a really bad cold but I'm going tomorrow night as I'm really geared up and ready to start and get back some control after the hols.

One tip I was given when I started my healthy eating regime (7 months ago) was to use a smaller plate at meal times. If you use a larger plate and reduce the amount of food on it - you automatically feel cheated and are convinced you will still be hungry. You do feel better sitting down to a plate that is full rather than something that looks like a half-sized portion!

I have to admit it really is working for me - at the beginning of June I was wearing a size 30/32
  :o:o Now I am buying size 22 - lost around 5 stones (less the damage done over the hols). Will update you tomorrow with my results.

If I can think of any tips along the way I will get back to you. No time to think of naughy nibbles now - way too busy reading this thread.
    :rotfl::rotfl:

Keep up the good work everyone
