For all those talking about how many calories etc. should eat each day...I too thought that you had to eat a lot less when on a diet to lose weight but when I started at Slimming World couldn't believe how much you can eat a day and still lose weight. Got on the scales after the first week saying I didn't think I'd lost because I'd eaten so much (but following the plan) but found I'd lost 5 and a half lbs! Then steady 1lb loss each week after but could've been more if I'd eaten less chocolate (classed as 'syns' in SW).
I'm not a SW leader or anything so not bothered if ppl do WW but I was surprised by the plan....basically you eat as much pasta, potatoes and rice a day as you want but 1/3 of your daily intake has to be fruit and veg. You have to measure the amount of bread and cereal you have as that must be the worst for putting on weight. There's a few other rules that I won't go into unless people want me to. But the plan seems to be working for me and have never been hungry, although obviously craved crisps and chocolate etc.0 -

totally agree, it is really easy to follow and you never go hungry. it makes sense as well-less of the bad food, controlled amounts of bread and dairy and more vegetables.Weight loss 2015: -4lbs January (thanks flu):wall:

Hiya everyone
hope everyones plan is going well, started back on WW today after having Christmas off but now doing the pro points plan as OH bought me the essentials pack for Christmas. Eating is going fine just need to charge the wii remotes to get my bum moving.
Well Ive just checked my BMI on the link posted on this thread and my BMI was 45.51 in Feb 2010 and now 35.47!!!!! I am shocked but really happy that Im actually getting somewhere.
My favourite Wii games for exercise are Just Dance 1 and 2, Dance on Broadway and the EA Active games. The only game Ive tried that I really couldnt get into is The Biggest Loser.
Good Luck today on whatever plan you are doing xxx0 -

That's fantastic progress, well done! :T
Natalie - thanks for the information about SW, it sounds like a good plan to follow. I can't get to any meetings as DH works in the evenings and I wouldn't want to take my little boy as I wouldn't be able to concentrate, but I will check out their website. If you have any more tips or info feel free to share
Wii games - my favourite is Wii Fit plus, though to be honest it's the only one I've tried really! I like the fact that Wii Fit plus makes it fun to exercise and it's also really easy to track how long you've been exercising and how many calories you've burnt.
I have just realised what one of my biggest problems is (apart from chocolate!). When my little boy doesn't finish all his dinner, I don't like to see waste, so I eat it. Even if it's just a few mouthfuls, it's still extra food that I don't need. We just had some gorgeous pasta and he didn't quite finish it all, so he gave me the bowl and told me to eat it, that's when I realised! I put it straight in the bin so I wouldn't be tempted and I'll try to do that each time now.Making money for Christmas 2012!0 -
Hi girls I can see a lot of progress already from you all, especially not eating that pasta Nicky.
Even though I was reading this thread a couple of times early this morning I still forgot to get on the scales.
I went on just now in shoes and it was ok, but will wait until one morning undressed before I do it properly.0 -
Hi Ladies!!
Have weighed this morning 10 stone 7 lbs and i am 5 ft 5.So i think i will aim for a stone and see how i feel!
Have started writing down what i eat and have taken my German Shepherd for a bracing walk today,in the snow!!
I am aiming to reduce my calories to 1400 and eating my 5 a day too.I willalso be doing 30 minutes of extra moving,if i call it exercise it seems like a chore!!
Good luck,i am reading regularly to spur me on!!
Ooops nearly forgot...i am aiming to lose 5lbs in January.0 -
Well I went to fat club today and I put on 4.5lb .
Then I went to hospital and they weighed me and realised I`d lost over 2 stone since I last went and they wasnt happy.
So now I`ve got to lose weight slower because it messes my medication up.
So we compromised on blood tests every month and go steady...how annoying...:(
Anyhow today I made some shephards pies to freeze and a big bowl of rice pudding because I find it hard being on a diet as some days I dont feel like cooking and then I fall off the wagon.
If anyones interested I could put a WW meal on say once a week for you to try. Perhaps if we could get enough peeps we could all list a recipe and say what diet club its for, the points and then save thinking what to do for evening meal. As my problem is thinking what to do
I`m going to edit my signiture and go for it, as I fired up :rotfl::rotfl:

Have finally got the courage up to get on my Wii - and am the heaviest I have ever been
I weigh 16st 7 pounds.
I want to loose loads of weight, but am going to aim for 7lbs a month, for the moment.
Exercise this week: Daily steps
1st walk at beach - new years day tradition 40 mins 5,282
2nd walk to church 2 x 17 mins 4,677
3rd Wii fit free step 30 mins 1,872 wii fit doesn't count these propery as did 3000 steps on free step
will do some more later
4th Wii fit 20mins step, plus 20mins mix
5th walk 10 mins, 10 mins step plus 10mins mix
6th Wii fit 20mins step, plus 20mins mix
7th just dance 20 mins
red is activity achieved
I also have nintendo DS walk with me - my daily step target is 4000 at the moment so will try to gradually increase this as I increase my activity.
Why I want to loose weight.
I have always been big, managed to slim down to size 14 when i got married, nearly 20 years ago, but have had 4 children since then and out on at least 1 st after each of them.
I eat too much rubbish, skipping breakfast, and filling up on crisps chocolate and junk.
I am unhappy as I am, struggle to keep up with the kids and would like to feel happier with myself.
