Yeah, if the meetings don't clash with working full time lol. Never been to a meeting yet as somehow they have always clashed with my shifts whether its a morning or afternoon meeting.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

I mostly try to do them in the morning/middle of the day but have had to do an evening one. What hints and tips do other SLs have about recruiting safely?
As Lozza has posted, good idea to let your OH or A N Other know your movements. It's not only men sign-ups though. I lined four potential newbies up one day last week, which were quite a trek away - three seemed nice easy ones but one just seemed strange somehow. Couldn't put my finger on it but luckily I asked my upliner if she could come with me. (To be honest my 'concerns' were not actually about my own safety but more about whether I'd handle any queries correctly.) Best way I can explain it is that in my initial phone call with the potential newbie she was like a 'frog on a branch' asking all sorts of unusual questions and sharing with me lots of minutiae. (She'd answered an advert about being an Avon rep.) Anyway, I couldn't find the address so called at the local pub to ask directions and good job I did. As soon as I mentioned the name, they looked alarmed and filled me in on some background; told me not to go into the house - certainly not alone - as the lady had a history of accusing visitors of theft and/or physical abuse....
Hate to think what might've happened if I'd gone on my own without letting anyone know. As luck would have it, despite making an appointment and having subsequently confirmed it she was actually out when we called so I left a card. She rang me the following day and after yet another 'strange' conversation (no apology for her not being there) - she hung up on me after trying to debate that computers were damaging the environment!

Yes, know what you mean. Might be worth asking if they can arrange something near you though at a time/day you know you could make. Most ASMs hold monthly meetings and are only too pleased to arrange at a time to suit as many SLs/reps as poss because it's more productive for them too. Worth giving yours some feedback and see if they can manage to arrange something you could attend - they can only say No.... As my dear old mum used to say: 'If you don't ask, you don't get'.:rotfl:Make the most of everything in life (especially Avon)

Yeah the only ones they do round here are the bigger meetings, and they can hardly fit them in around one persons shifts, when for most people they need to fit them in around school hours. Besides I probably wouldn't go anyway I spend enough time on Avon as it is and like a bit of free time to see oh as most days we hardly see each other as our shifts clash with each other lol.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

I had an epiphany yesterday doing a re-canvas
Just did a thread on Connects about it.
I've done one before using postcards and got 1 new customer call. I'd never wanted to give non-expired brochures to my re-canvas list because they're nearly all people who couldn't return their first brochure.
However I ended up with some spare backorder ones so thought I had nothing to lose. I got 2 new customers this campaign. One of them had seen my re-canvas postcard before Christmas and didn't call, but ordered a few things once they had a book.
I was lucky to get 20 free C6s with my last delivery because a local rep quit so I'll be using them in C7. If I need to I'll order some extra C9s (already got C7s and C8s and don't want to order more expensive brochures) to finish my re-canvas as cheaply as possible.
Just got to get rid of all these expireds now. They go back to C15! Might see if a local SL wants them.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

i have gained an extra two customers so far by recanvassing - yes they only made orders for £4.50 and £11, but they even ticked the 'please leave a book every 3-6 weeks' box so i have them hooked now!! still got 3 roads left to recanvass so fingers crossed.DFBX2016 #160 - £3550/£8800

Hi, I've not been on here for a bit so without having to go back through the forum can anyone tell me why I can't view subtotal on my order? Have they changed it or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

Theres a glitch in the system at the moment, they are working on fixing it but no idea when it'll be sorted. Best bet is to email them through the contact us bit at the bottom of the website so that they know you have a problem. Seems somewhat random as to who still has it and who doesn't.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Well I canvassed 48 houses on Saturday, putting current & back order books out. Big bold note, highlighted in yellow (my poor printer ) "please leave out on your step Monday morning so I can collect without disturbing you" or words to that effect. I've been out twice now and only collected 9 books in. 2 orders & one who had cut out the words "Don't" and "want" from newspaper and put them in the bag with the book
Anyways, off out to hopefully collect some more. Then put cards through those who haven't left any out to say I'll call tonight. I think I'll knock first though today, a lot seem to have the extra handles etc outside their doors like I've seen help the aged put up.Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0
