MIT I very nearly replied at lunch time to your post "well it couldnt get much worse today" Thats where I was wrong!
Went to town, got the block lifted off the joint account (thank you lord!) but wasnt allowed to use the card for 30 mins - didnt help when my grandparents and parents where waiting in the bank for me to go to lunch and couldnt really go with no money so had to take money out of the business account (will put the £50 back this week) ended up my grandad paid anyway So came home with the £50.
Got a voicemail message while in town from a client, her order is wrong even after a delay in the order over christmas, Im mortified! Had to phone supplier in the middle of town and give them a complete ear full! They are ringing me back tomorrow once they investigate. Thing is they already made the same mistake before and I had to pau £80 for the privilage of it getting fixed - they can carry the cost this time!
Then I get home to another call, another client wanting to know about their order (even though I said the draft design wouldnt be ready until January) and a second call 20 minutes later, husband pretty p'eed off. Ended up finishing their design only 20 minutes ago - even after the day I had I thought I deserved an early night - maybe not?
Got loads more to do tomorrow (helping out family) and not sure when I will find time for myself, I almost want to go to the gym now just to have some alone time to think! In all honesty think I will get up and walk to gym tomorrow when HM leaves for work!
Thats a whole other story in itself - The car was fixed but the front tyre wasnt punctured but the rim was actually bent causing air to escape. We knew in December that the rim was bent - it was spotted by a mechanic when I took the car back to them a week after they fitted a new tyre - he reckoned he had fixed it though - clearly not! So I now need to find time tomorrow to take the car to the original mechanic and make them fix the mistake they should have fixed properly in December - they better not charge me or I will be forced to shove a tyre somewhere so that the mechanic will never sit properly again! haha! Did I mention that Im a learner driver btw? So every trip I have to make to see the mechanic etc I have to drag one of my parents round, leave their car here so they can sit beside me in the car to be legal (Ive been "driving" for 5 years now but just never got round to the test - I did my theory last year and then couldnt afford the practical test - Ive never needed lessons after the first 4 as my HM was training to be a driving instructor and so taught me everything I needed to know for free
)
I'm so determined to stay positive, I promised myself in December that 2011 would be better for me and to me and I will make sure thats the case! Now what I really need to turn the week around is a 3lb+ weight loss!Life is what you make it.0 -
Thought I would update today in the hope to get rid of my bad luck!
Nothing (thankfully) happend. I woke up at 7am for my HM going to work, my dad had to give a lift again today cos I still hadn't fixed the car. She told me to stay on in bed because I was just so emotional wrecked from yesterday. I struggled staying up but thought I would put the laptop on and try and get a few things done. I ended up nodding off and then waking up to go back on the laptop - that went on until 2.30pm!!!
Had to get up and get myself ready. Was just about to go out the door when HM phoned to say they were all being sent home early because systems had crashed! Gutted because thats 2 hours pay she losses out on, but better being at home than sitting for 2 hours doing nothing! Anyway went and got the car fixed - the original mechanics that had been paid to fix the rim in the first place were a bit cheeky - I guess they don't like bad work returning! They fixed it again but I know they did it all wrong. The mechanic yesterday told me they would have to heat the rim first so it would be flexible to hammer back into shape - they just took the wheel from the boot and start hammering without heating it! Needless to say when we stopped at the shop we checked the wheel and it now looks like its been hammered to within an inch of its life! Cant imagine it lasting much past the weekend - and to get a new rim could cost us near £100!!
On the plus side I got to spend the afternoon with my neice, bought her some chocolate and a magazine - asked if she wanted a bite of my chocolate bar and she ended up eating the whole thing! Guess shes trying to help me lose weight :rotfl:
Got home, made a lovely lasagne which is in the oven as we speak - its the first thing I have ate all day!!:T
Bit more good news - ebay bids are up to £100!!Life is what you make it.0 -
Have you got any guy friends who can pretend they are your boyfriend or something going into the garage. Guys always get treated better than women. SOme mechanics just do what they like as they reckon we know nothing. I would then get the guy friend to take car back to the garage that made an !!! of the rim and get him to ask why they hadn't heated it and why it was such a mess. MIght find they treat him entirely differently. I have got my brother or my neighbour to call for quotes etc for me in the past and it works a treat. Good luck and brilliant news on the e-bay sales.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

thanks MIT - unfortunately no "guy" friends - Never had time for friends only boyfriends - struggling with that decision now as social life is a bit rubbish! The only one I really talk to is an "ex" who Im still struggling with our ended relationship even years on! He doesnt drive and theres no way my HM would let him drive the car anyway - she doesnt like him!
TBH if these guys cant get it right 3rd time round (which today was) then theres no way I would trust them with the car again - the mechanic who came and fixed the puncture was lovely and had reccommended another local mechanic that specialises in tyres so he would probably be the best person to take a look but hoping it wont come to that as the money really isnt there!
Can someone please kick me up in b*m tomorrow and make me go to the gym!! Just had a sneaky mid week look at the scales and ive gained 1lb!!!!! Need to the gym pronto!Life is what you make it.0 -
Well I've lost 5 so far:eek: does that kick your bum ? :rotfl:Most will go back on though now I've stopped puking and started eating. Starting training on a new job come Monday so hopefully going to tie it all in together as that will give me a good 4 week run at it5 Year plan. FINALLY!! A fantastic day for me
:T
Got up at 7am again - almost a full week and will really help getting used to early mornings with my new job starting in a week and a half. Spoke to the new employers (finally got a local number for them) and asked why they are asking for my ID for the THIRD time grrr - and then asked about contracts etc. She said it will be sent over today but still nothing - I live in hope!
Went to town and got a few things sorted including my last sign on :T I got a nasty letter again from housing exec. saying my benefits have stopped due to a change to income and claim I am now earning £999 a month - I bloody wish! Checked with the job centre and they said everything is fine from their end and so shouldnt have any problems. Cant wait to start earning again so I dont have to bother with housing - they caused more stress than help!
Anyway, then went to credit union and got approved for my loan :T Ive given my mum £60 to help with the cost of getting the cats tumour removed (the cost for this is ridiculous!!) and spent a further £40 on some weight watchers dinners. Apart from that the rest will go into the business account to pay off the rest of the clients albums so I can finally finish the business for good! Have also a bit extra for HM birthday next week. Such a relief to walk out of there knowing that financially theres some security again - and the repayments are only £1 extra per week!!
The most exciting part of the day was FINALLY getting back to the gym, monthly membership which means I also get alot of extra classes free - checked the noticeboard and the first "free" class I saw was aqua aerobics starting next week - would love to try something like this but think it might clash with my new work so need to phone and check what classes are available to me. Really want to make the most of my membership this time round, no point in spend £35 every month and not getting the moneys worth! Was disguisted how quickly I hit my "pain barrier" but soon worked past it - usually I would of just went "ah forget about it" and go to the spa area but I made myself work on. Treadmill isn't so great for my bad knee but did 20 minutes and a 3 minute sprint - first time Ive done that in 8 years!! Did a further 40 minutes on the cross trainer and thats where I usually burn all my calories - was pleased to have burnt 500 calories every half hour! Im hoping then to work out 2 hours every day at least 5 days a week when Im at work but while Im off I will go everyday!
Never felt better! Theres something refreshing about coming away from the gym after a good session and nice to have colour back in my cheeks lol.
Went to tescos then and bought some more fruit and a few light choice meals. Problem I found today was I was rushing so much that I didnt get a chance to eat much before and didnt leave anything out for dinner so at least now Im ready!
Also went shopping for new jeans today - badly needed! Havent tried them on yet - scared of the disappointment I think! Will try them on in the morning. Bumped into the ex that I still really badly like - embarrasing when your with your mum and she knows all about it! (Think he does too but just wants to be friends grrr)
Neice decided she wanted a donut when we went to the bakery, and then decided to eat it right under my nose as I was carrying - the smell was fantastic, the urge to buy one for myself was bad but managed to resist - will all be worth it in the end!
Just checked ebay and auctions are now up to £124.00 - My target was always £150 so Im sure I will get there now!
Ah so nice to report back with good news for a change and looking forward to a good nights sleep now!Life is what you make it.0 -
Another good day for me - lets hope it stays like this!
Had a lovely extra long sleep this morning before heading into town to open up my new bank account. Unfortunately silly fella at the bank forgot to confirm my appointment in the book and so they couldnt see me! Will rearrange either next week or if I can will just open it up over the phone which was an option given to me last week, should of just said yes back then!
Went to santander, theres still a block on my joint account, questioned the girl who should have taken the block off on Tuesday and she said yes definately was done, but block is still there and now HM has to go in and get her approval to unblock it (shes hardly wanting it kept blocked so we have no access to money!) Thats to be done tomorrow! Hopefully from then we will have our account back :T I shouldnt complain really because of their lack of help and us not being able to use the account we've saved up near £200 so at least that will keep us going for a while.
Got to also cancel our DDs next week - they blocked the account and standing orders but not DDs and now a payment has bounced for car insurance so need to sort that - not happy we will face a fee!
Went shopping with mum today and managed to get HM a pair of jeans for £3!! Feeling a bit guilty cos I bought jeans yesterday - but in fairness I did need them, I was down to 2 pairs, 1 had rips all up the back and the other has a broken zip! Was so pleased as I now fit back into "normal" sized next clothes!
Was meant to go to gym this evening put have really pulled a muscle lastnight so took the night off and decided to have some fun, the last month has just been too serious and boring for my liking so went out for a last minute meal and cinema. Handy thing knowing the restaurant owner means he knocked £10 off our bill!!
Definately going to gym tomorrow as Ive paid my monthly fees so need to make the most of it! Sat down lastnight and worked out my RMR and then a daily calorie allowance and realised I need to burn roughly 800 extra calories a day to hit my target of 3lb every week - thats less than an hour a day at the gym!! (I burn 500 calories every 30 mins on crosstrainer!!)
HM gets paid next week into her own account as we are trying to close the joint and so will have more money to start putting into savings etc, and I also start work on Monday - cant wait, this time in 5 weeks we will both have a full months pay in our hands and can start the savings / debt busting properly!
Ebay bids are now up to £150!! Which was the original target I had set :T 60 items end tomorrow and 40 end on Sunday so hoping the total will keep going up until then
So nice to report in with good news for a change! Hope you all enjoy the weekend!Life is what you make it.0 -

whoops must have missed this post the other day! Sorry!! I would say well done on losing weight but not sure I like your method lol. Good luck with the new training as well, hope you enjoyed your night out

Hey MIT yes I now have £289.60 on ebay!!:eek::eek: still 70 items listed but can't imagine many more bids between now and tomorrow night! So excited to see how much Ive made, but hate when ebay and paypal take their fees and your left with very little! Be lucky to see £250 of that once I pay fees and postage etc.
Still have some "big" items which someone has already asked about gumtree for one so that could be another £40 if not I will hold all that stuff back for another free listing weekend
Had a rather uneventful day really, nice long sleep again (skipped the gym though so not a smart move!) woke up and got HMto sort out bank and finally have our account unblocked now and access to our money once more! Will be moving this money into my new account once I get it set up this week! Guy on the phone actually lodged the official complaint today on our behalf for the rude guy from last week so my call will now be listened to and I will get a letter, doubt the line manager will do anything though
Started clearing out my room which has become more of a dumping ground over christmas when I bunked in with HM (bed broke when I was swapping rooms around last year and then we had to glue it but still not 100% fixed but need my own space again!) Managed to fill another 2 plastic boxes of unwanted clothes, some still have labels on, and most seem to be summer holiday wear so hopefully will get a small return on them once my 100 limit on ebay is brought back to zero and can start listing again next month! Still have more of the room to sort out and thinking of selling one of my guitars - cost £500 a few years ago and I never actually played it! so hope to get a bit from that - was also toying with the idea of selling my piano but Im not so sure cos I have a feeling a will regret it, so it will just have to stay in my room for a while longer!
Fell off the wagon today and had a chinese (hanging my head in shame!) BUT on the plus side could only eat 1 quarter of my usual portion and still havent touched coke in over a week - the longest Ive been without coke since I was maybe 11 so Im chuffed, even if I am really badly craving it and its all I can think about at the mo! Worked out the calories and it actually fits within my calorie limit so not all bad!
Re-worked the debts tonight and realised my only actual "debt" now is what I owe the landlord in arrears of £180 - which is actually split between me and HM, £3000 of the debt is hers so wont include it in my personal count, and have managed to pay back what was owed to the business from my credit union loan. Apart from that I have my £500 overdraft which is my real concern, got a letter on Friday to say im now at £501 - which is technically over the limit even if only by £1 so will have some fees hitting me, going to phone bank on Monday see what the can do to help shut the account and sort out some sort of payment plan!
Got bills to also pay off this week including my scary phone bill so wont see much of my hard earned money but at least the stress of finding the money has been lifted
Going back upstairs now to finish off the room and hopefullyhave a peaceful sleep at some point!Life is what you make it.0
