Thanks MIT I certainly don't feel organised but maybe thats lack of sleep talking lol.

As you can see by this post (currently 6am) I haven't actually been to bed tonight - well I tried - and tried - and tried! Finally gave up at 5am and decided to come downstairs. For some reason my eyes are tired, my body isn't - seriously hope this won't go on for long - I'm loving all these changes but won't be able to keep up with my plans if I don't get the rest my body needs :(

Toying with the idea of renewing my gym membership £35 per month on DD. Im hoping to reduce my weekly shopping bill from £70 down to £25 so savings of £45 every week so Im sure I can budget in the gym if I have managed such a luxurious shopping budget all these months! Because I couldnt sleep I went online to check out gym opening times and fits in perfectly if I ever have another one of these ridiculously late nights!

Have a bag of cds and dvds to sort through now and put on amazon now my HM has went and give me her seller account details :D

If anyone fancies an early morning coffee let me know - the kettle has just boiled!

Mornin, Have to pop back for coffee just out to fight on the roads to go to work and its snowing.
Hope your day gets better, get yourself a hot water bottle usually works a treat. I keep thinking about a gym but cant justify the cost at the moment plus when the weather is better i go walking with a friend and its saved me loads in my purse and on my waist.
Chin up chick it can only get better

    morning herewego :D

Ended up falling asleep on the sofa at am with the cat on my lap - only woke up there now opps!

Im hoping (more like crossing everything I have) that if I use the gym 4 times a week then by July (my goal) I will be the size I want and can either cancel the gym and start walks, cycling etc to just keep the weight off or reduce my weekly goal down to 2 days a week and change gyms to another local which is only £19.99 a month. Brain is working overtime with all these numbers :D

Oh My Word! Wasn't sure when I was going to be able to write my next update but hopefully I will explain all a bit later on!

Firstly yesterday was THE day from hell - was such a shame as I felt very positive going into 2011 and was able to run past any small issues in my way. I had decided to activate a personal account I had opened with santander 2 years ago but never used due to never receiving a pin even though it had been requested 3 or 4 times, the latest being in November! I phoned the bank and decided to deal with a business account issue first which I did and then asked to be moved over to personal banking so I could request a new pin and now a new card as I had misplaced it. Thats when trouble started. The guy was rude from the beginning and sounded like a grumpy teenager! He was asking me to answer security questions about the "card" I was asking to replace - how would I know the 3 digit no. on the back if Ive lost my card?!?! Anyway he then asked questions about money going in and out of the account - again duh! I have NEVER used the account. He decided to fail me on security - I have worked in 2 banking call centres and know how important security questions are (as they are for all call centres) but I think its unfair to fail someone on questions when its been made clear when I told him my intial query that I didnt have my card and the account has never been used!

After a few rude comments by him he told me to go to the branch as he couldnt be bothered staying on the line with me to argue!! (his words!) Well for me that was the last straw - theyve messed up standing orders on my accounts before and got me in trouble with other payments in the past but now the attitude from their staff was just unacceptable. So I went to the branch - watched as people walked past me in the queue and seen to without waiting (I was first in the queue and had been waiting for 10 mins) you can imagine I was pretty unimpressed by now. Finally got speaking to the branch manager no less! Explained what had happend and he arranged to have my accounts closed - that includes a personal account, savings account, joint account and business account - so their loss! I explained how I had been treated on the phone and he was able to pull up the call notes and the fella who had been rude to me wrote on my account "suspicious call - needs investigation" He obviously wrote that as I made it clear his attitude was unacceptable and I would take this further! The branch manager was disguisted to say the least and has asked that I now file a formal complaint so he can be dealt with properly.

So I now have to open up another account in a new bank pretty sharp. I thankfully have another savings account elsewhere and they were able to get me sorted out with an appointment this week.

So after all that running around yesterday I got very little less done - but did manage to pay LL £300 which was a relief!

Then suddenly at 9pm I started feeling very sick and went downhill very quickly - was up all night with a temperature of 38.1 at its best! Phoned doctor this morning who arranged an emergency appointment in between surgery this morning, was checked over but thankfully only flu - as I have asthma they want to keep a close eye on my chest so that the chest doesnt become infected - so Im now lying on the sofa feeling sorry for myself!

Just to make things slightly worse HM is also ill so none of us are even fit to look after eachother!

Sooner its summer and warmer months the better!!!!

  • Aaw you poor thing. WHat a crap couple of days. I would defo complain about that guy. I am a call centre section manager and I would discipline anyone who spoke to a customer like that. Most calls are recorded these days so remember to include the time and date in your complaint. Shocking to be honest. In the past I have told people that I wasn't going to waste my time arguing but that's always after one of my staff pass the call to me and I always spend a fair amount of time with someone before I would take that line. DOnt let them away with it as the next person may not be as strong as you are.

thanks MIT - TBH I would completely understand his attitude if I had been rude myself or arguing pointlessly for 10 minutes but I literally said I dont have my card to answer his questions and could he not ask me a security on my joint account as I actively use it! The whole situation really annoyed me yesterday because I do a fair amount of business with them - funny how well I'm treated in business banking section - maybe they could see how much money I was stuffing into their pockets every month! Ah well - now a nice local bank have my custom and are far friendlier!!

Feeling slightly better now although temp is still quite high and bought a chinese (none of us have the strength to cook) but ended up wasting 80% of it! I'm starting to get restless and really want to finish decluttering the kitchen/dining room but my legs are like jelly so better just to sit!

Have changed the kitchen cupboards around so that our food is in the smaller cupboard and plates in the bigger cupboard - funny when you compress all your food into half the space looks like we have enough to last us a month!! haha! This has been the first week in 2 years where we haven't done a weekly shop - so saved technically £70 (as per our old budget!)

Got some good news today (goodness knows we need it!) my HM was meant to start work today but wasn't able to due to also being ill and lost her voice! (not great for call centre environment lol) and as it was a temp. job I was worried they wouldnt keep her on but they phoned this afternoon really wanting her to start - she was prepared to go in tomorrow but they said leave it until Monday! They seem like a nice company to work for - they were even having a giggle at her attempt to talk on the phone to them - shes all whispery and squeaky hehe! But the great news is she still has her job with a possibility of becoming perm, after 6 weeks!! Even better she gets paid weekly which really helps are immediate finances :D

Hi weeclick just finished reading your diary and have now subscribed to it. Take this year to concentrate on yourself especially as the first few days of this year have been pretty hectic for you and now you are ill. Take it easy and look after yourself, if you are like me and can be quite ill for a week or so i dont even loose a pound in weight but my OH can easily loose half a stone. I just need to tone up but its easier said than done.

I have only been on these boards for a couple of monthes but the support and advise is brilliant sooner be on this site than facebook, people are lovely.

Good luck for this year .
