  • Vodafone miss-sold me and will not cancel my contract, what can I do?

I pay £31 for a sim only deal, so I use my own phone, all the extra is for the 4Gig +Free 1Gig data package which does not work. After 3 hours on the phone, Vodafone tell me they don't have 3G in my area and have no plans to put it in, and say if I want to cancel my contract I need to pay £200+ cancellation fee, I contacted Citizens advice to see what they say, bee good to hear your thoughts, also when the Vodafone guy told customer care about my issue they refused to take my call and told me to go to their website and read their guidelines.

When you say mis-sold, do you mean that they told you that you had 3G service in your area when you didn't? Simply being unaware of the fact isn't mis-selling as it is the customer's responsibility to check coverage, but if you were given assurances then Vodafone needs to investigate this and should allow you to cancel your contract.

Contact their Web Relations team by following the instructions posted by the rep in the post above yours clearly explaining why you feel the contract was mis-sold to you. They are generally more helpful than the Customer Services reps, and may be able to, at the very least, downgrade you to a more appropriate tariff.

  • I have a huge complaint about your customer service especially due to the fact that I have been a loyal customer with upto 5 lines on my account.
I've been having signal problems with my lines in my home only to find out that vodafone had been working on the signal situation in my area since April up till now and have acknowledged that they haven't been providing the service I have been paying for. They said they would compensate me which they haven't done and have mad e me purchase a signal booster in order to use my phone at home which I don't receive service on without the booster. They are now trying to deny this acknowledgement. I cancelled a line and went on a new contract with Vodafone with which I paid out the contract outright using my debit card but vodafone still took the payment of over £300 out of my account causing me inconvenience and it took about 3 weeks before they returned my money which they shouldn't have taken in the first place. I have now got a new issue whereby vodafone tried to take almost £900 out of my account, upon contacting them they are claiming that my son used 50+ gigabytes of data in a month and my wife used 19+ gigabytes of data in a month to which I stated it wasn't possible and their policy according to their website states they would contact me if I got close to reaching the limit. My wife's limit is 2 g and my son 500mb .... I contacted customer services 3 times raising a dispute and was told they would get back to me but no one made contact. I told them I intended to resolve this matter amicably and didn't want my lines disconnected yet they made no contact and stopped my outgoing calls on all my lines including a line that is paid separately and has no link to the issues at hand. I finally gave a call today and the first person I spoke to kept me on the phone for 25 minutes telling me I had to pay th bill, refused to pass me to a manager then hung up the phone on me after acknowledging that they didn't contact me. The second person I spoke to whom I thought was trying to be helpful transferred me to another customer service rep without letting me know he was going to do that after 30 mins on the phone with him. I finally was put through to someone with a little sense who has allegedly passed it on to an investigation team. For a customer who has been good and paying about £170 a month without fail via direct debit and not receiving the service he is paying for, is that right? I want these issues resolved and my lines restored. Please help.
  • They can't unless you follow the instructions on 2622.

  • I was put through to the retentions team at end of August to upgrade my phones. They offered me two IPhone 5's on an unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and 4gb data for £24.50. Soon afterward I looked at my online account and it said £31.50, I called their customer service immediately. I was told that it was discounted and that I must ignore the £31.50 it will right itself when the bill is prepared. Lo and behold the bill has come and money has been taken out of my account for £31.50 each. I have spent a long time on numerous calls, shoved from pillar to post without getting anything sorted. I am not fed up and want to cancel the contracts as Vodafone has clearly breached the contract. They are getting the recordings of which I know for a fact I am correct, so they will need to provide me with a copy of the transcript of which believe it or not, they want to charge me. I have to add, I was sold a IPhone 6 last week discounted to £38.50 as a family member works for a company which allows the discount. This was yet again all approved on a call with the retention team. To see that my account online says £48.50. That one is a easy one, I can cancel that contract, no charge. It is the other two that concern me. It seems to me that Vodafone will do and say whatever it takes to sell a contract and forget about customer service, honesty and trust. Anyone else had the same problems? I am now going to the ombudsman and small claims court.
