I have a default on my credit report due to Vodaphone. It was for a mobile phone account that was taken out in my name years before, when I started a new relationship my new partner put the account under his main account and paid it for several years. When we split up, he stopped paying, he kept the phone. I moved and did not think anymore about it. I did not release that the original contract was in my name, the account had been serviced by my ex-partner for years and I understood it was now in his name.
A few years later, a debt collection agency contacted me at my home via a letter, threatening court action. I paid the amount due immediately for £130 pounds and then tried for months to get Vodaphone and the debt collection agency to explain what it was for. They couldnt care less as I had paid the debt. I did ask that they mark the account as settled. Unbeknownst to me again Vodaphone, put the account on my credit file and all the missed payments. Marked it as defaulted and then settled. Eventhough it hadnt been on my credit file before I made the payment.
I had the histroy confirmed by the Vodaphone complaint rep on this site. However, I have now been told that I should have received a true certified copy of the original default notice. I never received one. Perhaps Vodaphone can supply me with this as the last time we spoke they said all my files had been destroyed in a fire. Yes, a fire. Would have been better if they said the dog had eaten it...which makes it even more incredible that they know what happened. When they have no papers or records to support this. Anyway, I cant get a mortgage due to this default and I would like someone from Vodaphone to send me the true certified copy of the original default notice or remove the default from my credit report... this has been going on for 3 years now.0 -

Thanks for making me aware of this.
I believe that my former colleague Heidi may have handled this some time ago.

Can you please tell me how I can cancel an order I haven't received yet? I placed an order last week and neither DPD nor Vodafone can track it.
I have been given conflicting advice from customer services so far, including that I have to go into store to refuse delivery before you'll cancel the order.
2 very long and painful (not to mention expensive) phone calls today alone and I'm no further forward.
My reference number is 6586972.

My signal is so bad I struggle to make calls with my mobile phone. Either I have one bar on the phone or it goes from 3G to e to GPRS. I have unlimited minutes that I barely use. I had a contract phone for two years with few problems. I'm halfway through this contract and it's been very different.
I also have a Vodafone tablet that won't charge. Each charger lasts 6 weeks before needing replaced, a 13 mile round trip each time and my concern is once that's out of contract, I'll be stuck with a tablet I've paid over 300 pounds for and it won't work.
I can connect to the net on my mobile and send texts. I can rarely phone.0 -
hi i took out a contract in august and recently havent been able to recieve any signal for the past month or so where i live i have contacted the live chat and phone 191 many times and just keep going through the same steps and not getting anywhere there telling me to set my settings on to a different one to only pick up 2g and this still doesnt work and also about a sure signal but i have no way of installing broadband where i live so can't do that one and basically there saying thats all we can do but still got no signal yet all i am getting told is well there should be i have asked how much it would be to cancel and it would be £445 which is a lot so i have asked for this amount to be reduced due to the inconvenience but no answer to that im just round in circles0
