  • I am in a contract with Vodaphone on a 2 year contract since Christmas 2012 for an Apple Iphone 4S which is now out of warranty.

A fault has appeared on the phone in that since a recent update it greys out the wifi so I am unable to connect. Apple and the network providers are aware of this fault as it has been documented since 2011/2012. Having done everything that Apple has suggested factory restore etc this has not solved it. I have been in touch with Apple and Vodaphone and been advised to return to Vodaphone as they are my point of sale. The phone could not be sent away without me agreeing to a possible chargeable repair for £150 which I will refuse if becomes chargeable.

The fault is well known on the internet affecting thousands of people and noone is accepting responsibility through no fault of my own I am now unable to use the phone for the purpose it was in intended and I will be paying for internet usage and going over as a result and no one is interested.

Having read on vodaphone forum they are advising of 2 year warranty but I was not told this when I took the phone to the shop and then they are denying for other people also.

Also I have experienced 3g issues as per the earlier posts by mightmariner641 and received poor service and was going round in circles with no support.

I have been with vodaphone for the past 12-15 years and recently purchased 2 further contracts for family members and I am feeling very let down by vodaphone. There service is very poor

    Hi mingleheaven,

Thanks for making me aware of your concerns.

As you'll appreciate, we're unable to make a decision as to whether a phone can be repaired or replaced free of charge without being able to assess the phone.

If the reported problem is deemed to be due to manufacturing fault, then a free of charge repair or replacement would be offered.

In regard to the difficulties you're having with our network, could you follow the troubleshooting steps on our eForum, which have been linked to here?

    Hi wildheart83 and mightymariner641,

Thanks for coming back to me.

I've received your emails and will get back to you as soon as possible.

    Kind regards,

    Lee

Hi, I was wondering if someone could contact me as I've had a really bad experience with the Egyptian call centre. I've asked for the call to be listened to and a manager call back and tonight someone had called me, said he's listened to the call, when I asked how long it was for he gave me the wrong time so I pointed this out, he got very aggressive and hung up on me. I've spoken to you in the past (lee) re upgrades etc and always had great service. I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
