    Hi SnowMan,

Thanks for coming back to me.

Although things appear to have been resolved, if you need any further help could you update the thread with your email reference number so I can trace your details and get back to you?

    Kind regards,

    Lee

    Thanks.

Unfortunately matters are far from resolved and I have received another email from vodafone indicating that I will continue to receive unwanted marketing texts from you. I have been asked to provide answers to a number of questions like when was my SIM registered? I have been a vodafone customer for many years on contract now PAYG (more fool me if this is the way you treat your long standing customers) so I have no idea when my SIM was registered. I am being told if I can't answer these unanswerable questions as well as registering for some vodafone account that I don't want to register for then you can't help and the marketing texts will continue.

There are many simple solutions to this. Why can't vodafone just call me on my registered mobile number and ask me to confirm I don't want to receive these marketing texts and then simply action that?

The latest vodafone email gives a link to your privacy policy which states
We and our group companies may use your information to contact you with marketing messages if you have not objected. These messages may include marketing from other organisations, but we will not pass responsibility of your information to these other organisations. If you do not want to receive marketing messages from us, please contact us through our website or by calling 191.
I contacted you via the website to object precisely as per your privacy policy but vodafone are deliberately and blatantly ignoring their own policy by refusing to act on that. I have contacted the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) to report this breach through their website. I would advise others who come across blatant breaches to report them to the ICO also.

The company you represent is a disgrace based on my experience. However you seem to be a lone employee who is generally trying to help people with their problems on this thread. If you are able to help with stopping these unwanted marketing calls I would be very grateful.

All I am asking for is vodafone to respect my privacy, follow your own privacy policy, and act on my simple requests to stop these unwanted marketing texts and the numerous texts I have sent you to say STOP.

I would strongly advise others not to use vodafone if privacy is important to them, don't be fooled into thinking vodafone follow their own privacy policy; it is blatantly disregarded in practice.

Thank you for trying to help.

This is the first time I have used the forum and I hope someone can help. I have just discovered we were not getting the agreed discount on our calling plans when we renewed in March this year. The contracts were sent via email and showed the price before discount and that this would be applied to the account- we were told this would happen by the advisor. We had no reason to check our direct debits as we TRUSTED everything was in order. As a result I have now requested Vodafone listen to ALL calls in respect of our order and send us a copy of same. we also have to phone them in2 weeks to find out the outcome as they don't call customers!!! This is not the way to do business nor indeed to retain custom and is an abrogation of responsibility by Vodafone. I thought I was the only one that was treated like this but I see from other posts this is not the case. Can anyone provide me with an email address for Mark Bond as he appears to be God at Vodafone but invisible!!m. Please help if you can

When you call in two weeks you'll be back at "go".

Rather than posting on two different threads why not follow the advice which (apparently) you must have read.

    Hi HollyL,

Thanks for making me aware of this.

If you'd like me to take a closer at it look could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?

All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it'll take you to the Contact us form on our website. To make sure it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line?

Once sent you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. Could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?

    Kind regards,

    Lee

Vodafone have replied to say they won't stop the messages, telling me I have to register for My Vodafone to stop these messages.

I did subsequently try registering for My Vodafone (not that I should have to go to those lengths to get my privacy respected) and it didn’t work.

It wouldn’t accept my mobile number as my account number. It says sometimes your account number isn’t your mobile number. So I sent a text to get my account number as it tells you to do, and it told me to then text my postcode which I did. Rather than being texted my account number then got a message to say my phone wasn’t available for an upgrade!!!!!! I don't want an upgrade I want my privacy to be respected :(

    I gave up.

Lee is going to ring me probably this afternoon so hopefully this miserable performance from Vodafone will soon be at an end.

Edit: Lee rang to say that my marketing preferences have now been updated so I won't receive these unwanted texts. Thanks to Lee for that.

I'm sorry to see that this remains unresolved.

If you'd like me to help could you email me via the details I posted last month here?

    Kind regards,
