Lee - someone phoned my son and he asked them to phone me as he wanted me to deal with them

They set up a password with him for this, but no one has telephoned or emailed me since

    cheers

REALLY NOT HAPPY WITH VODAFONE AGAIN...

My 24 contract with Vodafone expired towards the end of March, I requested my PAC code which I used on 3rd April and transferred over to Virgin, my current provider.

However on 9th April I was charged £37.80 and not given any indercation into why I was despite being told I would not be charged again. I couldn't even log on online to check why I was billed as I was no longer a vodafone customer and my logins did not work.

Having spoken to Vodafone in the middle of April after the bill of £37.80 I was told this was outstanding and had to pay it but told there would be NO more bills or outstanding payment....but I couldn't view the bill or see what it was for.

WELL...... 13.07 today I received an email from Vodafone being told "My Bill is ready"....just been on the phone to "Eddie in Warrington" for the past 40 minutes and he can't trace my details and tells me it is likely that I am still going to be charged for an inexistent phone bill!! He took my details and said with the team leader they are going to try and trace my details to get the problem sorted. Really not happy!! How can they not have my details stored, how they can they charge me

Is it worth me contacting my bank to tell them to block any charges from Vodafone? I'm pretty sure they have charged me one bill already...and it looks like they want to bill me again for this inexistent bill

    Hi AndyP1957,

Thanks for coming back to me.

It was me who spoke to your son briefly last week in order to obtain his permission to discuss matters further.

I also replied back to the email asking for some contact details for you.

As soon as you've got back to me I'll pick this back up again as soon as possible.

  • Hi,

Hopefully cover all the possible search options in the title so all will find this who have or thinking of transferring to Vodafone.

I transferred my number to Vodafone last Tuesday 7th May from Orange who I have been with since they started nearly 20 years ago to a new phone.

I followed the instruction of leaving the Vodafone off between 11 and 4pm. However the number has not gone across properly.

I called Wednesday to report the fault that if i sent a text from the Vodafone it would go as my ported orange number but the reply would go to my old orange phone. Also my old orange phone was still working with the same old number as ported to the Vodafone.

If someone was on Vodafone then their text would arrive at my Vodafone and not the orange phone.

I was told it would be sorted by 4 pm and to take the sim card and battery out for a few minutes after 4pm and it would be fixed but it did not fix it.
Called Thursday and was told it would be fixed again to take sim and battery out after 4pm etc. Again it was not fixed.
I called Friday and was told the same and again it was not fixed.

I tried to call Saturday but found it impossible to get through as the business dept is not open which i found amazing as you could always speak to someone at Orange.
I eventually got through the menu options by being a home customer or something and not entering in my account or phone number as it would log me out saying call back Monday.

When I did get through I was told to do the same again after 4pm and it would be fixed, I did and .......... yep still the same.

I called orange on Sunday as I still have phones with them on my business account and was told the 07973 number has been disconnected their end and it was up to Vodafone to get the files across to fix a split sim problem.

Also I have a very bad signal coverage which i did not expect being near Heathrow airport and I am just hoping this is too do with not being set up on the system correctly.

At this point I have approached the 7 day right to return the item and no further forward and have not had a response to my question of returning the phone to the small business adviser who set our account up. I have copied him in on the emails to the technical department as well and still no response.

On Monday 13th May I found another problem that the calls I keep dropping after a few seconds are all to Orange numbers so their must be a conflict their too. I called again and was told it was being looked into by the porting department.

That evening I sent an email to the Customer service department explaining the problem and received a voice mail from them Tuesday asking me to call them as they cant get through !!!.

I called back when i could get a signal and they said they would escalate it to the highest level in the porting department and would call be back by 5.30 with more information on the problem. Again had a text saying I had voice mail but this time could not get through to retrieve it as the phone is not calling out or sending texts.

I called the 08080 cost a lot number from a land line as I now have no mobile use and was told that it had been escalated to the highest level in the porting department and it would be resolved in 48 hours. They would also extend the right to return within seven days as I had not been able to use the phone and place a £25 credit on the account.

I know I should appreciate that but the phones fine its the Vodafone technical department and customer service that's the problem and I am trying to run a small service based business which means I am out of office for most of the time and 48 hours without a mobile is no good to me let alone the 7 days of intermittent use I have already endured. Also i cant divert the number now its not working.

I am glad I only moved my number from orange business and left the others their as this service is unacceptable and definitely not what I have ever dreamed of from a company that has the portrayed the image that Vodafone do.

As you can appreciate I have far more important things to do than writing email complaints and constantly calling the technical dept and this is post will at least make others aware.

Anyone having problems with their reception? The last few days I'm having problems with texts not sending and calls not connecting. Rung up customer service but that hasn't been much help really.

Reception has always been a bit bad in my house but never to the extent that texts don't send or that I can't make calls from some rooms fine.

I keep getting told to connect to 2G or GSM only but I've been told by technical staff in store that this isn't a fix.
2p off is still 2p off!

    Hi fatboyonadiet,

Thanks for making me aware of this.

For further help with network related issues I'd recommend following the troubleshooting steps in the Network Issues thread on our eForum.

Although I can't provide you with a link to it due to the posting guidelines which company representatives are obliged to follow, you'll find the thread in the eForum's Network Queries section.

    Kind regards,

    Lee
