One slight issue is that the date that is a month before my contract end-date is whilst I'm out of the country. Don't quite see how I'm going to the able to request my PAC cheaply if I'm abroad.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
Requesting your PAC does not cancel nothing, using PAC to move your Voda number to another network does indeed0

Using a PAC to take your number elsewhere DOES cancel the contract. Requesting a PAC is just an intention to move network and cancel. USING the PAC cancels the contract.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... Thanks everyone. I've been in touch with Vodafone Web Relations team via Twitter. They've asked me to send them an email with my requirements.
Will see what happens..0 -

No, as diamonds says, the use of a PAC and transferring the number to another network causes immediate termination at the time of transfer.
It is the safest way to ensure termination of a line, as once the number is active on another network it is completely removed from the previous. I always recommend to people to port the number out, even if they don't care about the number, it gives complete assurance against a network coming back to you 6 months later claiming you didn't give notice.====0 -

EXACTLY, whats a payg £1 sim card from a local shop to your port number too ?
It might not be money saving but that £1 verus requesting credit files and costs and time sorting out a defaulted payment (for a cancellation you may not be able to prove you did call and request such at that later date any issue arises) its a cheap price to pay for peace of mind, and financial security.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... EXACTLY why I said requesting and USING said PAC are two different things
Using a PAC to take your number elsewhere DOES cancel the contract. Requesting a PAC is just an intention to move network and cancel. USING the PAC cancels the contract.
Under their "Pay monthly airtime conditions", there is no mention of either PAC or porting and the contract runs on a 30 day rolling basis once the minimum term is reached.
In order to avoid problems, the safe bet is to cancel the contract officially as per their T&Cs, giving the required 30 days notice. Obviously porting the number out before the end of the 30 days notice period in order to avoid the number being ceased.0 -

Thanks for updating the thread following our conversation earlier this week.
As promised, I'll follow up with you next week to make this's fully resolved.
Just to update readers of this thread.......
Lee called as promised and I comfirmed I haven't received any further unwanted marketing texts, so looks like everything has been fully resolved.
Thanks to Lee.I came, I saw, I melted0 -

Voda rep - Lee, ask your legal team to do their job and reword the T&C around obtaining using a PAC to leave Voda to be inline with Voda website and Ofcom regulation.
UK communications company ARE the WORST at communicating CLEARLY.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0
