I think you are right to follow it up and be annoyed about it - I would be. Busy or not, newbit or not, he should be told thats not how to speak to a customer. If the manager can't tell him that (and clearly he is just as bad) then I would take it further too. xxMake 2019 in 2019: £1350/20190

One day I was shopping in Boots after my shift, wearing my tesco uniform and a customer marched up to me in that rather rude way many people have, and said 'where are the plasters!?' very loudly. I ignored him. He was outraged at my 'rudeness' and moments later could be heard complaining about me at the checkout desk, demanding that I be disciplined, whilst pointing at me across the shop.
Probably went home and complained about me on here too....
I was in john lewis just before chistmas in my work uniform (nothing like john lewis's) and a lady asked me how much something was, i just happened to be stood right next to an on the wall self scan machine thing so i scanned it and told her how much it was, :rotfl:0 -
Yes you are making a fuss over nothing.0

Yes! You have made a huge fuss about nothing. Why did you wait half an hour to complain about this? Seriously, in the grand scale of things isn't not that important. I can understand complaining if he told you to F Off but he didn't.
I think you need to find yourself a hobby.

I love it when that happens to me. I used to be a rep on the road and the amount of times, I would be in M&S or TESCOS etc, shopping on way home ( was in a suit) and people used to come up, being so rude, demanding this and demanding that. I just used to stand there, smiling, waiting for them to finish their rant, before telling them to f*** off I dont work here.Other times I used to agree and say ' yes we are crap aren't we, why dont you shop elsewhere in future?,
It normally used to be the fur coat, no knickers brigade, who thought they were something. The amount of times I got reported to the manager was amazing!. That is why I dont suffer 'shopping' fools gladly
BTW anyone else find it really amusing when toffy nosed people go to the places like Lidl,Aldi, Netto and pack their shopping in their own bags? These are usually M&S,Harrods,Selfridges bags etc. I love to peak at what they are buying, usually the cheapest tins of beans you can buy, but dont want anyone to know about it.....:rotfl:0 -
Despite the fact you werent shown where the item was i would have left it as it was and either ask someone else or find them on my own,
i admit im not shown where something is everytime i ask the staff im not taken to the product but i leave it there and then and forget about it
waiting half hour for the manager, i woiuld have given it 5 minutes and gone0 -
With me I would had told the spotty mooooooldooom that he should put the goods in the trolley back on the shelves as it is clear they do not want my custom.
Minded me of the time in sainsbugs of the huff in the beer ale gesticulating about the Thursday night out and how they ended up in a state. I told him that the licensing laws required him to be a responsible person and that I owned shares in his company. He was rather meek after that and has bin most helpful since0 -
A lot of people may have complained about this sort of customer service, and quite rightly too, but if this shop assistant had dropped what they had been doing, run around the store like a headless chicken in search of the vol-au-vents and having found them, personally escorted you to the shelf/freezer where they were to be found, would you have spent half an hour of your precious time waiting to see the manager to enthusiastically compliment the worker on his exemplary performance?
The answer is 'No'.
Perhaps, if more positivity were to be shown, and more reward for good service were to be handed out, frontline customer service staff would strive to be more helpful and polite. Instead, it has become common practise to criticise, in an attempt (sub-concious mainly) to prove that we are above the mere hoi-poloi.0
