Its just something about Morrisons I have noticed, not noticed it at any other supermarkets.

Don't work in retail anymore so I'm not bothered about which is better. I just know what the mystery customer looks for in Sainsburys and if they went into Morrisions they would likely fail. Much preferred the shop when it was Safeway, went rapidly downhill when Morrisons took over.

Asda bought all the Safeway's over here in Northern Ireland.

DH and I went to Tesco to do our "major" food shop on 23rd December at about 11pm
I was desperate for some wensleydale cheese with cranberries and there was none on the shelf
I asked a lady who was re-stocking, she said " i think they are on an end gondola - I'll look for you"
5 mins later she came back and said " sorry none there, but I know I have some just delivered if you can hang on I'll get you some"
10 mins later she arrived with a whole box full and a SMILE on her face - I thanked her profusely as she was no doubt under orders to get the shelves restocked ASAP - but she went out of her way to help me and I appreciated it.
Likewise a young man who helped me find Pork pies and a particular type of loaf for my brothers shopping list too.
The staff we all very cheery and it was a PLEASURE to shop at TESCOS CROSS POINT, COVENTRY
even the check out girl who told us she was holding down 3 jobs and had been working for 22 hours was lovely and smiley- they all made our christmas just that little bit extra special
    thank you to them all
  • I find that Morrisons is the only supermarket (in my experience) where the staff do actually stop what they are doing and take you right to an item if you ask where something is.

I think you have a right to feel aggrieved but don't think this is typical of Morrisons.

Why didn't you make your own vol-au-vents like everybody else on MSE claims to do?
  • The OP needs to get a life and stop complaining about people on £4.50 an hour.

It appears the PBI in supermarkets are expected to do everything, and smile, yet still get paid bu££er all.
Added to that the checkout staff have to smile and be polite to the chavvy scum with a trailer load of value cider, their own weight in junk food & 5 snot-nosed brats in tow.
I'm a fairly harsh sort but I reserve my happiest demeanor for the people who serve me. If I do get poor service I assume the poor ba$tard has just had to put up one of the many whinging to$$ers I see nowadays.

Blobby, LOVE IT, couldnt have said it better myself.

You do know though you will now be hounded by all and sundry on here, who would like to go back to edwardian times when you could sit down in the shop, whilst everyone run around for you getting what you want.

  • a while ago, when my kids were little, I had a part time job in tesco. One day I was shopping in Boots after my shift, wearing my tesco uniform and a customer marched up to me in that rather rude way many people have, and said 'where are the plasters!?' very loudly. I ignored him. He was outraged at my 'rudeness' and moments later could be heard complaining about me at the checkout desk, demanding that I be disciplined, whilst pointing at me across the shop.
Probably went home and complained about me on here too....
