    Goodmorning all,

Happy Birthday Chipps, hope you have a lovely day.

Just got back from the house. Been painting today. Going to do my ironing now before I prepare tea. XDIL took DGS to the doctor's today as he's been a bit out of sorts the last week. He has tonsilitis so hopefully once that goes, his behaviour will improve. I have him on Thursday so I'll let you know. :D

I'm going to lend my TWG to her on Thursday so I dare so it will take me ages to get back as it's a big book. When she rang earlier I told her it had come and she asked if she could read it.:p I have read it ages ago so I do know what's in it, but was looking forward to a browse each night tucked up in bed. All good things come to those who wait, so I'll just well.........wait. :)

Have a great Tuesday all and ((((((hugs)))))) to those poorly. Byeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Morning :j

Full of beans this morning, but I don't kknow why

Was poorly at the weekend so I haven't been eating properly ie nothing but tea, soup and organic bio yoghurt - hmmm .... lightbulb moment - have I been poisoning myself with my own home cooking?

Mr Watcher woke me with a cup of tea at 5.41am. Wavered between urge to kill for waking me at that ungodly hour and gratitute for the tea in bed. He's visiting a client 'Down South' today, hence the early start.

Managed to 'surface clean' the kitchen yesterday :j Still needs the cooker and floor to be deeply cleaned, but I'll do that later if I have time.

I persuaded DS1(12)'s orthodontist to see the boy before they charged me for making a new bottom 'twin block' for his teeth. It's £68 we could do with not spending before Christmas. Whilst waiting I overheard the receptionist giving a quote to someone over the phone for a private brace (different to a twin block) for their child. I was going to be between £2,000 and £4,000

All I can say is God Bless the NHS. DS1 has a badly deformed mouth because of thumb sucking for 8 years, on top of his Dad's genes giving him 'jumbled up' teeth- his top teeth protruded 2.5cm infront of his bottom - hence the work been done on the NHS.

Well today I need to finish the house. Main tasks are cooker, downstairs floors and bathroom. Dogs need a walk (or a swim looking at the rain today) and the shopping needs doing.

Immediate task is to de-duvet DD2 (9). She NEEDS a shower and hairwash before school. Wish me luck :D

Have a great day everyone.

Hi all, hope everyone is succeeding in all their tasks and chores whatever they are.

Life in our household is a bit strange at the moment - changes happen, and when they're not planned they can be very unsettling - but onwards and upwards........and as we still have our health, so we have nothing to complain about.

Had some velvet curtains cleaned the other day, and when I went to hang them I discovered the lining had been torn from top to bottom - (I found this after I'd removed the others, cleaned the windows etc.) So as you can imagine I wasn't much pleased. Anyhow the cleaners, after gentle persuasion, have agreed to repair them.

Forgot to add any fat to the BM yesterday , I was trying a new loaf with 'seeded flour', what a difference it's made, but you learn from your mistakes!

We finished off some stuffed cabbage yesterday, I'd made the stuffing mixture with minced lamb flavoured with cumin and some fruit chutney and then added some brown rice - it worked a treat. Today I've got the bone and meat from sundays roast in the SC with some root veg - although it's been on all night a little more time will do it no harm at all.

    Take care all.

Hugs to all who need them :grouphug:

    Good morning everyone!

    Congratulations to Churchmouse!
AMIE399 - sorry to hear about your FIL, hope the operation is successful.
PW - we hear a lot of criticism of the NHS, and it's far from perfect, but when you think what things would be like without it.... Our youngest DS has had orthodontic treatment, he inherited his dad's very narrow jaw, and has had to have teeth removed and a brace to move the others into place. His teeth look fine now. But DH & his mum both have really awful teeth (well, his are fairly bad, he has one tooth behind the rest but otherwise they don't look too bad) but his mum's teeth are like pegs. So I am very grateful for the fact that DS has ben able to have the work done - and for free, too! It would have been a real struggle to have to pay for it (but I think we would have done our best to do it!)

Thanks for the birthday wishes! DH bought me Cynthia Townley Ewer's book Cut the Clutter! (and flowers, of course!) And my mum, who bought me a new jacket for my birthday when we were in France last week, gave me a small present last night which I have just opened. It is an apron, with a picture of a teddy bear and the words "Cordless Grandma, recharge with hugs" embroidered on it!!!!!

Anyway, I am hoping to be taken out for a meal tonight, hopefully with both DSs & DS1's fiancee - as well as DH, of course!
But until then, there is a load of housework to do.....

    Have a good day, everyone

    tired mum,
you have just reminded me I want to pop into Braintree Freeport this week. I want to go into that craft shop - Paper Mill???? (something like that) where you can get a box & fill it up with different coloured papers quite cheaply. I want to make some special Christmas cards. Freeeport is only just up the road (about 7 miles) from here, but I hardly ever go there!
