Would like some info on best place to buy cheap/nice thankyou cards/notlets from for DD friends who came to her party. I normally make my own cards, but wont have time to this lot. Thanks in advance.

I normally get them from cheapie shops like poundland and QD (dont know if you have them??) as they are surprisingly nice cards for the price. Although i get them whenever i see them cheap and seem to have a huuuuge stockpile...

(Note to self...Stop buying thankyou notes!!)

  • Morning everyone

((hugs)) to AMIE, congrats to the Churchmice and :bdaycake: to Chipps :D ((hugs)) to everyone else too

Thansk for the reminder about picking a parcel up from the sorting office (was it you mentioned it dlb?) Must have been a new postie cos they usually leave it on the back step or in the recycling bin if I'm out. I think it's some smashbox makeup I ordered for myself for xmas (one of the boys can give it to me - saves Mr TM getting some tat for them to give me;) ) Also need to do a mega food shop today as we're even running out of things like flour and milk.

Need to make some phone calls before I go out though. Signed up a new client yesterday and have a fab assignment to do for them. Then I shall put my OS hat on and get down to some serious "stuff" (aka don't exactly know what yet, but there's lots to do)

B: Porridge with linseeds and fruit
    L: Veg and ham soup
D: Maybe chilli and rice, but then again.....

I think I need to start eating up what's in the freezers so I can get them cleaned out before Xmas - so won't be buying anything frozen. Chilli is pre-made but I think I need to put something else in it. I used chilli powder formt he asain shop so it's very VERY hot - but no "taste" IYKWIM. I think they put cummin in the jars you get from Tesco. Do you think that would work? MAybe I'll have a play around with a bit and see.

OK peeps, take care, keep warm and special ((hugs)) to all the little babies out there :D

    Good morning everyone! :hello:

Not a lot happening here today. So far I’ve tidied up the debris after the rush to school/work and now I’m making some stock. I had planned to go into town this morning to do a little Christmas shopping, but it’s very cold and very grey out there, so I’m beginning to talk myself out of it.

It’s my week off work, but I’ve been asked to cover for someone else tonight, so tea will have to be something quick and easy....I might use the stock to make soup and make some cheese and onion bread to go with it.

Amie, sorry to hear your bad news. I hope that everyone who's feeling poorly, feels better soon.
    Happy Birthday Chipps! :bdaycake:

Have a good day everybody! :)

    :hello: Good Morning!

    Happy Birthday Chipps! :bdaycake:

Congratulations Churchmouse on becoming a Granny! :j

I have started a big clear out and de clutter in order to get the house halfway decent by Christmas! Threw out 3 large bags of wastepaper, junk mail yesterday and there is more to go! Feeling better already!

I still haven't made any mincemeat yet so must sort that out while there is still time.

Chipps and tiredmum you have both reminded me that I also need to get to Freeport (papermill is great isn't it) before Christmas, not too far from me either so no excuse!
So sorry to hear about your FIL Amie :grouphug:

Good luck to PP's OH today!

(((Hugs))) to all that need them and to all the lovely babies that have appeared.

what a nightmare night :( - dd (1yr) was moaning all night, couldn't really figure out what's wrong. just kept seeing to her. ds thought 2.30 was a great time for getting up  - luckily once in bed he went back so sleep rather quickly. but he cried out again at 4.30 - took another 10 min to settle him back. at 5 dd decided to wake so i took her in with me. and at 5.30 ds was awake for the day ... anyone want to swap?!?!?!? :D

aaaanyways, no plans for today. but only because a mum i've met online had to cancel on us - her little boy got ill :( (we would have gone to the softplay; not sure if i should try it on my own with 2 little monsters )

i will have to search the recipe thread later for a nice easy cake
they just vanish as soon as they come out of the oven  (:D)

i also had a read of that (veeeery long) MR BM thread - does it bake nice cakes?!?!? :p

just tidied the playroom (all toys off the floor and sweeped the floor) - looks already so much better :T

AMIE i hope your fil is allright! (and all your family of course!) :grouphug:

    happy birthday CHIPPS!!!
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work ;)

    Morning All:hello:

Congrats & Hippo Birdy respectively to Churchmice & Chipps & (((Hugs))) to Amie:grouphug:

I haven't been around the OS board much lately as not much OS has been happening in the Lillibet house. Both Spud then Hubby got chicken pox so I had my nurses hat on for a couple of weeks:p, now they are both fully recovered & I have gone down with a real OS bout of flu:eek::mad:. Not a bad cold but real, sweaty, achey, sleepless, sinisus-y, feverish flu. I am having to get up 'cos there is no-one else to look after Spud but I really want to be in bed. As long as it goes in the next 11 days as hubby & I are off for a weekend away (our 1st without Spud!) & to see George Michael in concert & I have been looking forward to it for months! I really don't mind how ill I am now, I'll cope, as long as I am OK for 11 days time!

Fortunately meals & the like are taken care of as I am having a pre-Christmas clear out of the freezer, been eating up all the extra SC portions lurking in the bottom, plus some very odd combinations ( goats chees tart & scallops for lunch any one?:D). Finished the Christmas present shopping, just waiting on a delivery of ink so that I can print the cards & need to buy gift wrap (which I am an@lly fussy about:p).

Hope things are well for everyone else in OS;)

    have a good day:wave:

    Morning all,

Went to bed at an uneartly early time for me last night (21:39 to be precise, lights out by 22:00) as I was feeling rough with a cold. Can't afford to be ill in the next couple of weeks, as DH is mega busy workwise and away too.

Chronic nights sleep, wide awake at 03:00 ... ah well, must've got some rest, because I'm up and about.

14 portions of Chilli have been made this morning (not in the SC, not enough time today!) and yes TM the Tesco's mild chilli does have cumin in it.

DH's hair has been shaved, and I'm about to tackle the ironing before picking DD up from playgroup, whereupon we are going around to a friend's to make HM pizza and generally have a fun, messy time :)

I'm going on a quilting course on Saturday .. stupidly (?) I didn't realise it would require me to have some patchwork ready to be quilted!! So, when the requirements arrived in the post this morning, they've put me in a bit of a tizz! Hectic week work and social wise, not sure if I'm going to have time to do anything .... hmmmm ... panic!!!!

    Congrats CM on your grandson!

    Have a fun day now y'all :j
