    Morning all

Had a good day yesterday and got loads done. Good start to today as got up at 6.40 but at 7.00 got a phone call from a friend who had just left our house [stayed the night as DH and he were morrris dancing last night], he'd broken down cos of no petrol....so had to go on a rescue mission.
Then it was back home, see DH off to work and sat down on here and phone went.
Was my mum telling me about an aunt who it would appear has 'let herself go 'and may need to be sectioned for her own safety. Her husband [my mums brother died sunday morning...she hadn't seen him for 8 yrs ...although she had tried] and he wasn't removed from the house til monday evening as she didn't tell anyone he had died. Apparently they have no phone and the house is neglected and smells. You hear of these things but never realise it could happen in your family.
Today I'm hoping to clear and declutter conservatory and maybe do some baking

    Morning all

Just sitting here with a :coffee: before I get on with the next thing on the list today.

Have already dusted and hoovered all through, beds have been aired and remade, parrot has been cleaned out, fed and watered and he's got a nice new fruit tree branch to rip to shreds. Washing up is done, dried and put away, WM on second load, bathrooms been swiped, kitchens been swiped and swept. Amazing what I can do when I put my mind to it.

Todays jobs are (in no particular order)

Make leek and potato soup for tea (using gammon stock from the freezer for added flavour)
Iron /photograph/weigh my next lot of Ebay items - might even list them today too.
Pack my last 2 ebay items from last auction so they're ready to go.
Find the bottom of the ironing pile.
Get the BM fired up for some dough for HM rolls to go with tonights soup.

Only got one more childminding day next week then I'm a proper full time OS'er - Can't wait!!! :j

    Have a good one all.

    Dear God,

I think you'd be proud of me! So far today I've done all right.

I haven't gossiped, lusted, lost my temper, haven't been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish or overindulgent.

    I'm very thankful for that.

In a few minutes, though, I'm going to get out of bed.

From then on I'm probably going to need a LOT of help.

    Amen.

  • Morning everyone!

Feeling really pukey today so apologies in advance for the short post.

I am at work today then out tonight - really don't want to go, I just want to sleep!!! It's kind of unavoidable though as I'm going to support my OH. At least I've managed to negotiate leaving by 9pm, home by 10pm.

We are planning a massive house blitz this weekend so I am so looking forward to everything being in its proper place again and things being nice and clean and tidy.

Pooky - You are a true Old Styler! I'm very impressed. You are making me tired just reading!

scuzz - Excuse my cheek, but it sounds like your work is having a severe detrimental effect on your health. I know (from reading past posts) that it is a popular job and I think you feel lucky to have it - but is it really worth all this stress and not getting any time to yourself?

Joannasmum - How are you feeling today? I feel really exhausted and queasy, hot then cold with backache and just generally really out of sorts - but it really comes and goes. Sometimes I feel fine and I think - surely I'm not pregnant - then it comes over me in waves. Please let us know how you get on at the hospital today.

Jamie - So glad to hear that your son survived his accident and he is recovering well - that must've given you such a shock.

    Hugs to everyone else.

    Love

    Morning all!

Christmas is creeping up slowly but I have got quite a few presents sorted. Will get some more on Saturday. Must get round to making the Christmas stuffing and put it in the freezer ready.

Made a loaf and some banana bread yesterday but shan't do much cooking today except for making shepherds pie for tea. Piixxysu, I just make a basic sponge and replace some flour with cocoa when I want to make a chocolate cake, eg. 6oz butter, 6oz castor sugar, 3 eggs, 5oz SR Flour and 1oz cocoa. To make butter icing I mix butter with icing sugar and keep adding the icing until it tastes right and add some cocoa into this until its nice and chocolately. If you want a more mocha icing then melt 300g dark chocolate with 50g unsalted butter and add 2 tsp espresso coffee powder. The smell is to die for when its cooking! :D

    B: Muesli
L: Baked potato (if I remember to put it in the oven!)
D: HM Shepherds pie and cauliflower (possibly cauliflower cheese)

Have a good day everyone!
