  • Couldn’t get on here until now, our office internet connection was down

Well, the cat has departed to kitty heaven :( The vet discovered that he had an inoperable tumour in his mouth which had damaged his jaw and was likely to end up blocking his windpipe before long, so definitely time for him to go :( I’ll miss him of course, he was a stunningly handsome tabby cat and a real character :) But on the plus side, at least it’s meant that my housemate has finally got to know the neighbour who really owned him – they’d never really got around to speaking to each other even though they’ve both lived there for years and knew they shared the cats!

BTW, I just saw your post Chipps, this cat would never have dreamed of doing his business anywhere inappropriate – he actually knew how to use the toilet!

Finally had my removal quote done yesterday and am perfectly happy with it, so at least I don’t have to ring round any more companies in the vain hope that one of them might still be free next Thursday morning.

Also listed several items on Freecycle so will need to sort out response emails this evening when I get home.

I am also now a convert to the wonders of TK Maxx – for some reason I’ve never actually bought anything there before, despite browsing several times, but last night I picked up two Egyptian cotton fitted sheets and a really good-quality duvet cover/pillowcase set for my new bed (all essential, as I’m upgrading from a single to a double bed when I move and don’t have any bedclothes the right size) for the grand sum of £35.97 :j – the same would have cost me a good £60 in a department store even if I’d waited for the sale! I think I will return there tonight, I still need a duvet and would ideally like to replace all my pillows which are years old and a bit manky! There were various other items which I’ll revisit once I’ve moved, too – kitchen and bathroom accessories, things like that.

Incidentally, sorry SnowyOwl that my connection dropped last night when we were chatting on MSN. I couldn’t reconnect straight away so I took the opportunity to log off and go to bed as it was v. late!

Got to go, off to visit a community centre down the road where I'm organising a redecoration project for work (doing our Corporate Responsibility bit...)

    Love Rzl xx

    Morning everyone!

scuzz - Excuse my cheek, but it sounds like your work is having a severe detrimental effect on your health. I know (from reading past posts) that it is a popular job and I think you feel lucky to have it - but is it really worth all this stress and not getting any time to yourself?

I'm beginning to wonder this myself!!! Believe me I am looking

Made a slow cooker full of pea and ham soup overnight ( found a market where I can get ham shanks or hocks!)

That will make a nice lunch for me and DH and saving a portion for DD tonight.

Have just put a sausage casserole in the slow cooker for tonight which we will have with mashed potatoes and sprouts. Have put loads of sliced red onions and mushrooms into the casserole for extra vitamins.

Anyone who turns their nose up at this can have an omellette or cheese on toast!!!

Going to wash my hair and have a nice long peaceful shower as DH is here in case the doorbell goes or phone call is urgent etc.

    Hugs to everyone.

  • i've finally (!) managed to sort sky tv out!
they keep sending us letters to charge us higher if you don't 'connect the box to the phone line'

they don't state how or how i actually could check it

so i've been on the phone (for quite some times and many times i have to add )
and was about to give them a mouthfull (:D) - then they finally seemed to have told me the right thing and voila ... no more hassle :T
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work ;)
