Oh mrsmortenharket - thanks for that.. I once complained to DH that I could smell a burning smell when I drove our mini (long time ago -one of the old ones). Luckily he never found out that I'd been driving everywhere with the handbrake on (I worked it out myself) Of course I didn't know why we had to get it fixed at every service. Must have been a fault with the design ?:shhh:
Been at work all day - just about to catch up on the thread.
Freezer now just about empty - yaay. Some of the meals were getting a bit repetitive, GR I love your 3 bean chilli but I may make a smaller batch next time.:rotfl: Then again - just typing that is making me feel like some. Still got about 6 packs of mozzarella though. I'll get DS on the pizza making this weekend - I think if I just do a scone base he can feel like he's doing it himself.
I'm off to do a healthy eating meal plan - and I'm gonna plan breakfasts and lunches too. I usually just do dinners and kind of hope the rest will sort itself out. But I think this is where the pennies are now going as these things are all "off list".
Had an unexpected conversation with a workmate today - I work in IT and most of the guys are young, live alone/with roommates types. The guy I sit opposite suddenly asked if I could suggest something he could do with the turkey slices he's bought too many of as he won't finish them off for sandwiches. So - as you've all taught me so well - I was able to point him in the right direction, and while we were on the subject I convinced him not to by jars of bolognese sauce any more and advised on the perils of ready meals. :A (I wasn't preaching, honest, he was really interested)
Right - off to find out what you lot have been up to."You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0 -
Evening all! just got back from my mammoth 2 day shift at work!:j Tea in the oven - HM tuna fishcakes, oven chips and a bit of oven baked baguette.
WM and TD also on, always loads to catch up on after this long shift.
Hope everyones well, not had time to read the thread yet but will catch up later.
Back soon xxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
evening all,
hope everyone is okay, thanks for asking about kyle and me churchmouse, i dont sit long at the computer as i think it aggravates my gallbladder though i think it is settling down now, had another blood test yesterday, kyle is okay but has had a sore throat and dgs3 is still wakening at 4.30-5am he is going to be moved into a big bed to see if that helps
had the last signalong class last night so it was good and hope it will help the children we have who are not talking much
it was frosty this morning so i am glad i bought the car cover from lidle for £2.99, it will cover the top of the car and is quite sturdy for the price
i have the day off tomorrow so hope to get some xmas shopping done, will have to get something useful for ds1 before he goes to iraq
love and hugs to all xx0 -
Hiya all
Thanks for asking churchmouse, my sore throat did go away but is back again! ds1 is still constipated, cramps in his tummy, really sore, went back to dr to get medicine but this made him sick! so new medicine today, he likes the taste! has to get 10ml twice a day!
He went back to school today but has been complaining of backache and didnt want to do his scottish dancing today! he has this after school, looks very peaky and his bloods have been high at lunch. Other prob is he is hardly drinking and think he might be getting dehydrated, the school were commenting on this today, he doesnt drink anything while at school! so have made sure he has drank since he came home.
Lo in big bed last night as we had the surestart nurse up yesterday and she said he was ready, as the noise from hubby might be disturbing him! he looks so little in the big bed:rotfl: was up 5 times in the night and woke at 5.30am so both me and hubby were knackered! dh on nights tonight so i will have a fun night!
Not much os today, made bread thats about it:rotfl: must get some sleep tonight!
Hugs to all

Evening All
Gosh what a busy day. Saw the consultant this morning who was lovely. Didnt have a scan but he had a good poke and prod and after looking at my dates he thinks that I'm about 7 weeks. I questioned him about how/why I'd managed to get pregnant and he said that our lifestyle change would certainly have had a positive effect on both our fertility. After that it was off to my gp with DD unfortunately they couldnt fit us both in so I gave her my appointment to her, she has a mild ear infection but it doesnt require anitibiotics. I'm going to go back next Thursday to fill in the paperwork and hopefully I'll be able to have a scan the week before xmas.
Going to be now as I'm knackeredSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Well today didn't go completely to plan!!
Didn't make it to Bluewater so no Christmas shopping got done
But did get a fair bit of tidying/cleaning done:D
New plan to go shopping tomorrow now, armed with LOTS of M&S vouchers (rewards for using M&S credit card - always paid in full each month!:D ) and John Lewis vouchers ( thanks pigsback!) Feel I can splash out a bit as it's "free".
Good to hear from you twink and kyle. Hope you continue to improve twink, and that you get some sleep tonight kyle! I had one son who used to forget to drink. Total nightmare and he didn't have the health problems your wee one has!
Anyway, goodnight all, see you tomorrow.

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Hiya everybody,
I have DGS today although he's not feeling the best. He's having his nap now so hopefully he will be a bit better after that. Had some wild storms here yesterday. We didn't get the brunt of it but other suburbs did. YS heads off tomorrow night at 5.20pm so will take him to the airport. DD & friend are away this weekend so me & DH will be *home alone.*A rarity at our place.
Well off to read yesterday's thread and hope you all have a lovely day. ((((hugs)))) to those feeling poorly. Byeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Breakie: Bacon Roll
Lunch: Baked Spud, ham and salad
Dinner: Shepards Pie, Cabbage and Carrots
Hugs to all and will report later.
