    Morning everyone :)

Mrs Mix, that sounds awful
Twink, I hope you have some good times with your son before he heads off to Iraq (and Kyle too) :).

We are all good in the house of gin except the children have their first experience of headlice. I guess ds picked them up at school, he had about 10 of the little blighters in his hair and dd only had 1 which is luckily how I spotted it as she is very fair and we were sitting together and I saw the little critter in her hair. Forked out almost £20 on the electronic comb (thanks to advice on here) and I have to say I think it was worth the money.

Parents are coming over tomorrow so the house needs a good tidy for the royal visit, at least it will be nice for the weekend. Dinner will have to be considered, Oh cancelled staying in London last night as he only has 2 days left in his job so I cooked tonights meal yesterday iyswim. I think it will involve chicken.

    Have a good day everyone
  • Morning all,

    Hope you are all ok....

:grouphug: to all those who need them and as always to anyone that just wants one.

Have had a weird couple of days but am now off w*** till Monday. Away this weekend so got to sort the stuff out for that and get all the jobs done that I would have done over the weekend before we leave tomorrow afternoon.

DD in bath, going to take her to school and then back to face the house...

    Will check in later...

    Have a good day all!

Morning all. Slowly getting over this chest infection. As I get older it seems to take me longer and longer to recover and yet I have no idea how I became this old[50]....surely I'm only 35!!
Going to collect some jam jars today so I can make some marmalade. Probably won't do much else as I think I still need to take things easy
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

    Hello:wave:

And I'm at work again. Finally finished at 6.30pm last night. Just a 13 hour day so short for a change!!!

Baby sitting for a friend later before going on an evening appointment

Met the BIG BOSS MAN yesterday, but looks like I'm pretty safe in my job.

Having a lunch meeting with colleagues from another office later, so will be nice to get out of the office for a while. Must remember to switch on the slow cooker when I fly into home.

I also need a new head lamp bulb for the car and need to put some money on my phone - gone slightly text mad!! But they're only 3p, so it's not too bad.

    Hope everyone's ok

  • Morning, all! Not been around for a few days; too many other things going on at home.

Good news, DS's team won 3-0 at footie, beating our most local team who haven't been beaten all season. One of the boys on the opposing team bet DS £10 that his team would win. DS has no intention of actually taking the tenner, but he doe keep reminding the other boy!

DS also won a bronze medal in the swim gala. He worked really hard, as he's one of the youngest (and smallest) in his age group.

Bad news, the brother of one of DD's friends was hit by a school bus, and very badly injured. He's out of immediate danger, but still in a very bad way. JamieD and Mrs Mix, hope your DSs are feeling better.

Have a local TV crew coming today. They're doing a week lond special on waste, so are filming here to show Freecycle in action. Quite looking forward to it! They want me to make pasta on TV on my freecycled, brand new pasta maker. Watch out Jamie Oliver!!

I'm doing a presentation at the high school as part of Enterprise Week tomorrow, on my role doing money advice at CAB. This is making me nervous.

Amie 399, welcome! I don't use room fresheners, much prefer an essential oil in an oil burner.

Sured, hello and welcome to you! Hope the DLA appeal goes well. DLA is the benefit where a decision is overturned at appeal most often.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning

Going for my weekly shop this morning. Still seem to have a load of food in the freezer and trying to work my way through that before getting any more so just need fresh stuff.

Taking my mum with me and my dad has asked if we can meet him to assist in finding him a new jacket. Taking my mum for the shopping takes up most of the day and the jacket finding will be another expedition

When I get back there will be time for a quick tidy up and then on to making dinner.

My days off work are quickly running out and I don't want to go back on Monday. However it would be a financial disaster if I gave up work. I am sure once I am back I will be fine. I can't complain too much as I only work 3 and a half days. But it is so nice being at home and getting those little things done that I never seem to have time to do.

    Bye for now :D

    Good morning everyone! :hello:

I didn’t get much sleep last night as our youngest woke at 12.30am, just as I was about to go to bed, complaining of an itch…..he was covered in a rash! Not a nasty infectious looking rash, more like a nettle rash/allergic sort of thing. I gave him some medicine and some cuddles but it took forever to get him back to sleep. Thankfully the rash has disappeared and he is as lively as ever this morning… even though I feel like rubbish, I am trying very hard not to be a grumpy mummy.

I'm off out this morning but this afternoon the plan is to make another banana loaf in the breadmaker….I made one yesterday, but the greedy gannets scoffed the lot in one go! I hope to get another two of the dreaded cupboards sorted…but that’s about it. Dinner will be something quick and easy out of the freezer as I have to leave for work at 6.30pm tonight.

Jamie, I was so sorry to read about what happened to your son….it must have been a terrible shock. I think it’s something every parent dreads. I’m glad to hear he’s on the mend.
Kyle and twink, It’s good to see you both posting again. Kyle I hope both you and ds1 feel better soon.
Mirakl, Thanks for the link yesterday….would you believe that farm shop is only about two miles from where I live, so I’m going to have a nosey in person at the weekend.
Vivw, I’m glad you’re beginning to feel a bit better.

Oh I really am still asleep….mrsmortenharket, I read your post as you were off to Victoria Coach station to get a man! I definitely need more coffee. :o

I hope you all have a good day! :)

  • Morning everyone. What a wet and wild morning! Looking forward to going out for the school run - not! Haven't read the posts yet, just thought I would quickly check -in. Have to go to Boots today as I am practically out of nappies and they need some too at DS nursery tomorrow. Thought I could have a good look at their Chrimbo stuff, too. I HAVE to get wrapping paper to send some gifts to OZ. I forgot all about posting dates so not very OS having to use air mail rather than sea!
Right off to get kids in gear.
    Have a good one.
  • :hello: Morning all (Its a long time since I was able to say "morning" to everyone. :D )

Just a quick post as I am heading out the door. Good night's sleep last night so feel much better than I did yesterday. Going to my "second" job today. Don't really like it but I need the money. :(

Hope everyone has a great day. Can't remember who mentioned the Debenhams sale but I think you have just put an idea into my head for later today!!!

    Have a good one.
