  • Afternoon All

House is clean from top to bottom. No ironing pile but must admit washing pile is a little large but have been washing towels and bedding today. Now am having a real lazy one - watching a cheesy xmas film on sky - have paperwork to do but that can wait. Actually will probably do it this evening as am xmas shopping at lakeside tomorrow. Am hoping that loads of people went today to go to Debenhams so will be a little quieter tomorrow!

Right gonna sit back and chill for a while.

    L - cheese sandwich
D - chicken, sausages, j pot with side salad.

    Have a great day
  • hi all,

weather is very depressing here at the moment, it never seems to stop raining. we were going to go for a walk and then it started chucking down. OH finished off the kitchen yesterday and it looks fab - he's done a great job. we are going to fully tile it but aren't in a rush as we want to do the bathroom next.

yesterday i managed to clean our bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and help Oh when needed, before taking to bed at 6pm feeling really low. i slept right through till 8 am and feel much better today.

i'm doing well on my diet and have had no side effects to the tablets yet!

plans for the day are to hoover whole house and then use the new vax carpet washer we just bought.

OH is going to floor the loft and fit a loft hatch so it should be warmer soon.

might try and list somemore stuff on ebay later.

    hugs to all

    Hi everyone!
Have been off line for a couple of days as have had meetings to go to but will shortly catch up on all your doings!
Yesterday's meeting was the review for my son's Aspergers which I always dread but fortuntately he's responding very well to all the measures the school have put in place to help him and he's doing well on all the front. The SENCO said we have lots of reasons to celebrate so we are with an Indian takeaway tonight:j :j
OS today has been emptying the bin, sorting a dark load and hoovering throughout plus the usual bed making etc etc.
This evening I shall do the weekly menu/shopping list and hopefully make some sloe vodka. When I got home last night I realised that I had defrosted some grapes not sloes.. teach me to go rummaging in the freezer when I've only just woken up.
My Mum turned up with a new coat which she'd bought in the sales for the small person. I've put it away for next winter but am dead chuffed.
    Enjoy the rest of today!

My Dad's sofa and easy chair were picked up last night through freecycle and they are going to a residential school for children with disabilities.

No idea what to make for tea so may just dig out something from the freezer and make home made potato wedges to go with it.

Spent this morning looking on jewellery website for pendant or neclace for 12 - 13 year old DD. After getting dizzy with choice I came up with a good idea.
I will photocopy some pages of pendants etc - show them to her (with prices inked out) and get an idea of what she really likes - will then have a short list to choose from and she will still get a surprise.

Hugs to everyone not feeling well.

  • Hi again, :hello:

Well, w**k wasn't too bad. Got paid a very nice compliment by my 2nd boss today. He recently sold his business to a bigger practice and will work for them for the next two or three years until he retires. I will continue to work for him on a personal basis rather than being employed by the new practice. (Is this confusing?) He told me that the owner of the practice was offering me a full-time job as he has been told how good I am at my job. :o:o:o He then said that he didn't know what he would do if I decided to give up my job as he depends on me so much. It made my day. He isn't normally so appreciative (he docked me half an hour's pay once when I had to pick my son up from school early because he shattered his elbow!). Would this be a good time to ask for a pay rise???

Btw, how many of you have given your washing machine a good clean after last night's "How clean is your house"? Funnily, enough I had done the vinegar cycle on Tuesday when I was off so I could sit there feeling quite superior - won't last though. :D

Tonight's dinner will be leftover curry from last night - and using the tips picked up here, I remembered to cook more rice than I needed last night so I don't have to do it tonight. Think I overdid the chestnuts in my attempt at the Jamie Oliver dish the other night. They were rock hard. And, yes, I did peel them before I cooked them! :rotfl:

Sorry, I don't normally ramble on so much but having my boss pay me such a nice compliment has really lifted my day.

I hope your day is a good one.

Have just got back from doing some shopping but now don't have the energy to put it away. All my plans of making some marmalade today will have to be selved until tomorrow.
I'm meant to be returning to work but I really can't imagine a whole day in front of 14-18 yr olds teaching when I feel like this. This chest infection has certainly wiped me out. I've already had 2 weeks off so can't possibly take any more time off work.
Think I will unpack a bag then sit on here for a while then unpack another...maybe I can get it done like that
We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

Ds has just rung to tell me that my organic veg box has arrived.:j Unfortunately he then told me it contains brussels sprouts which I hate:eek: .

I'm determined to use up the contents to show DH though (luckily he likes brussels) even the sprouting seeds  which I have no idea how to use, can I put them in a salad?

Might change from the winter box, which this is to a different one.

    Afternoon people :)

I think I've come down with a cold or something. The dizziness from yesterday hasn't let up and I feel wiped out, so won't be able to do much today. Didn't even wake up till midday! DD has been sent to bed as she's been grumbling and rubbing her eyes, and OH has also gone for a nap (it was his turn to get up with DD this morning). I'm hoping to finish off the kitchen which I started yesterday, then if DD is asleep go for a nap myself.
