    Did you order your sofa?
Yesssss! Finally. Plus by the time I was actually in a position to order it (i.e. after exchanging on the flat) Argos had knocked fifty quid off it :j :j Now I just have to hope they can get it through the living room door - should be fine as long as the dimensions given in the catalogue include the height of the part of the cushion which sticks up above the back of the sofa. The door is 86.5cm width, the height of the sofa is listed as 90cm (and the depth is slightly more) which suggests that as long as the back cushion is removed, it'll be 80ish and will be fine to go through the doorway with the back facing the floor.

I'd never managed to find much worth having at TK Maxx either, but then I'd only ever been to the Bexleyheath branch - yesterday I popped into the Charlton branch on PP's recommendation (her OH found a super king size goosefeather duvet there last week for an amazing price) and obviously there's still a lot of junk there as well but there does appear to be a reasonable selection of decent stuff if you look hard enough :)

I'm particularly pleased to be finding all these bargains as I've just settled my solicitor's bill

I think if you use plain flour you need baking powder to make up for it not being SR, although Ive never tried this myself! It should taste ok even if it hasn't risen properly though! :)

Not been around today. Went to the doctors this morning, she has put me on Prozac to see if it will help my sleep problems amoungst other things.........

Went to Iceland and got 6 loaves at 60p for the freezer, also as we are going away for a couple of days next month bought 2 packs of rolls at 2 for £1. They are now in the freezer which is humming away nicely in the garage, put it on fast freeze and it is now frozen, so have turned it down to the economy setting.

No housework done, have just managed to do chicken in mayo and a salad for supper, will sling a jacket spud in the micro in a bit.

I have taken my first tablet, it says it can take up to 2 weeeks to kick in, so will wait and see what happens.

    Off to watch Countdown...............
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

Afternoon Everyone - Hope all is well

Just wanted to say - sorry - Ive not had to chance to catch up will all the thread at the mo. Will make a brew in a sec and will read away shortly. Just had the worse day.

I said a couple of days ago Im having trouble with my car starting. This morning - It would not do Nothing - I rung my mechanic friend up, he came to try and jump start it - not a sausage - he had a good luck, turns out its the glow plugs (which you get in place of spark plugs with a diesel). He told me the cost incl labour. (ouch - thats all I need). Anyway, we rolled the car of the drive and finally after loads of attempts we got it bumped started.

I managed to get to work. told my manager, and she suggested to let our service dept investigate and give me a quote (no harm in that I thought), staff discount etc - will help. I finished work at 2pm - went to fetch my keys - to be told they are half way thru changing the plugs - my mouth dropped wide opened. I said who authorised the work, I only wanted a quote. Had to wait, and an hour later - it was ready - £99 I said I refuse to pay - could have got it cheaper elsewhere. After haggling - I can now pay the same my mate quoted me, but I feel really bad as he was goin to do the work. At least my car is done now, hopefully no more problems with starting it up. But thats just really annoyed me

Got my DD school friend here, they are playing happily upstairs.

I was going to do savoury mince and veg for dinner, but now, I think it will be convenience food from the freezer Im afraid. Just dont feel like doing nothing now

I was handed a news letter from work today - they took a picture of me to announce my new job. All I can say - scary mary from phones 4 u advert has nothing compared to this pic - lol.
Anyway, I can hear the kettle calling me, be back soon to read up
    Take care for now
    Love as usual

  • Hi everyone :hello:

I forgot to set the alarm when I went to bed last night. Didn't wake up until 7.55 this morning. Day has gone downhill from there. Have a banging headache that has refused to budge all day and now its spreading to my neck and shoulders.

I haven't read the thread yet - but I promise I will. Need to go and try and cook something for dinner - which won't be easy since this headache is also making me feel sick so the thought of having to cook isn't exactly appealing.

(((((hugs))))) to everyone who needs or wants one. Hope your day has been better than mine.

Rang the garage as it needs booking on for a service, Told them about a light that comes on when I start the car & randomly at other times.

Very Big Mechanic goes to look. And comes back sniggering. Takes me to the car & tells me to start it. Then he tells me to release the handbrake. And the light went out. :o:o:o :rotfl:

Oh god, have to bake 3 cakes, 24 fairy cakes, 24 biscuits, pick my mother up from London, sort out kids rooms as I've taken all the toys from downstairs back up...I have been at it all day but its NEVERENDING, arrgghh
