    Afternoon all,

I've been a bit MIA lately as money states are pretty poor really.

    Negatives:
I spent my whole food budget on my weekly shop at Asda. Spends are pretty diar too, I only had £10 to begin with and I used it to buy a Subway for me and DB. I also had to spend £10 on petrol and had to withdraw another £10 just to last the week on the bus.
I had to put £99 on my credit card to cover my glasses, I decided not to wait as they are for driving and poor eyesight while driving could be potentially life threatening so not a risk im willing to take for £99. This bought me 2 pairs so not too bad.

Anyway onwards and upwards, i've been silly this week but I won't do this again.

    Positives:
I've put £2 into my pot (oh must update sig).
I received a letter saying that I have 613 free shares. I could either keep them or sell them for 55p each. I decided to keep them and hopefully they will go up a little, if not it's a nice little nestegg for the future if needed.
I think thats the only good news :rotfl:. I guess technically the worth of my new shares outweighs my spends so it's not all bad.
Might update my sig with my shares when worth 55p each, this might spur me on and help me remember it's not all debt.
Oooh i'm also doing well on the diet/exersise so i'm happy with that too.

I'm not going to do a money update this week as it'll just depress me, so the plan is to live on whats in my purse until Friday, highly doable with some self control.

    Hope everyone else is well,

    Cup_Cake xx

  • Great news on the shares, diet and exersise Cupcake. Sorry the spends arent good. Just keep plodding and try to minimilise any damage. Thats what I am trying to do until the 25th but my diet isnt so good!

Thanks Keeping Positive, do you have a diary? I tried searching for one but couldn't find one.

    Morning MSE'ers,

Yesterday was a good day in the cup cake household.
I went for a 2 mile jog which made me feel great. I did slip and have a pizza which seem to be my biggest weakness (although DB payed and walked a mile to get it which helps a little).
I bought a coffee yesterday and my bus fair so not too bad. I've decided that I can't beat myself up everytime I slip and buy myself a coffee or a bag of crisps because otherwise i'll end up miserable.

I have a to do list as long as my arm today.
I didn't make any lunch (whoops) but i'll buy a sandwich which shouldnt cost too much.

    To Do's:
    - [STRIKE]Wash up, dry up, put away[/STRIKE] (whilst watching Eastender which I missed yesterday).
    - [STRIKE]2 loads of washing [/STRIKE](or at least 1).
    - [STRIKE]Cook chinese chicken stir fry[/STRIKE].
    - Go for a light jog (my legs ache).
    - Early night.
    - [STRIKE]Set alarm before bed [/STRIKE](forgot again last night).

    Have a good day all,

    Hi all,

So it's been a few days since I posted so I thought i'd post an update. Warning huuuge post to follow.
It's been an up and downy week, heres whats happened:

Because DB's self employed he had to do his tax return before 28th Jan. Although after ringing HMRC they said that because he didn't actually earn any money being self employed before April 2010 that he just needed to enter the details of his P60 of his last job. Anyway he did this and it came up as his owing £400 . This is for his student loan which he missed for a couple of months when he moved jobs. Now I know he owes the money but given that we were'nt expecting it we were pretty peeved! He's going to pay this out of his tax money for this year and they ensure we earn the £400 back before next April for the next tax return. Not great but no other option really. HMRC did say that when he rings them on Tuesday to pay they will check he's done the form properly so it may be slightly cheaper (fingers crossed).

    Anyway onto better news!

I got paid yesterday... finally! Money update to follow!

I still have £18 coming from my ebay sale, it's currently sat in DBs bank account as he needs it more than me just now. I should be getting it over the next week or so though.

DB sold something on Ebay for £300 :T.
Also DB will be getting paid for some work he did a couple of months ago which is around £120 :T.

It was DB and I's 5 year anniversary yesterday so we spent a lovely day together. It shows you can enjoy yourself without money!

Overall a bit up and down but I need to make sure I make a big effort to post daily as at the end of the last paying month I slipped a little, hence why my OD2 has gone up slightly. Looking back, everything I bought was a waste.
Money post to follow and I can see where my wage has gone.

    Money Post:

    Pay - £1190
£720 - Bills, rent, car insurance (normally half of this)
    £60 - Phone
    £200 - Spends
    £200 - Food (normally half)

    Current Money:
    £26.90 - Spends
    £42.79 - Food
(£300 for rest of month - 3 weeks)
    32 days to payday!

Some of this is 1p and 2p's and a £2 coin. I'll sort this out later on today.

I'm going to have a look at the up your income board. I'm going to start doing free scratchcard, might as well!

    Morning all,

So I went food shopping yesterday. Didn't do anything else spendy, just went for a nice walk with DB. I made a lovely chicken kebab with salad for tea.

Yesterdays total food spends were £24.18.
I got 2 more £2 coins at the shop so thats 3. I might save them until Friday to check I can afford to save £6 as the food budget is looking a little thin.

    Soo, Current Money:
    £26.90 - Spends

    £18.86 - Food
(£300 for rest of month - 3 weeks)
    31 days to payday!

I was looking at the Centre Parcs website yesterday. It doesn't look like it should cost me a fortune for 4 days there. We're going to take most of the food with us and we'll spend most of our time walking and swimming. We'll just have to be careful not to eat out tooo much as this will be what costs the most I think. Although given that it's my dads birthday I will need to eat out at least once, although he seems quite happy with spending most evening in the pool which is good :).
I'm going to have to start being really good to save a little bit for it though. I am making my dad a birthday cake and me and my brother are going to get some balloons and banners etc.

Diet is going ok, although im going to kickstart it again today, must go for a run everynight to keep my energy levels up.

Also, i've given DB the £18 from Ebay as he wants to buy himself something and I can do without it for now. I'll get it back when he gets a new contract. Things are quiet at the moment though.

I've taken my NSD's off my sig because i've decided that I dont really need to count them, im only going to count my money.

    Things to do today:
    - Sort out pennies and 2p's.
    - Go for a jog.
    - 2 loads of washing.
    - A little bit of washing up.
    - Nip to shop for something for tea.

Looong post for me today, but a long post is better than no post, it helps me stay organised.
    Have a lovely Sunday all,

Tut tut, I haven't posted again in a couple of days!

    Soo, Current Money:
    £24.85 - Spends
    £5.75 - Food

(£300 for rest of month - 3 weeks)
    29 days to payday!

11p went into my 1p and 2p pot.
I still have my 3 £2 coins so am going to try and not spend them.

I spent a little in the supermarket on Sunday night from the groceries and I spent £2 on birthday decorations for Centre Parcs out of my spends yesterday, although overall quite good me thinks.

I'm going out tonight for some tea but food is 50% off so I shouldn't need too spend much.

I have tomorrow off work so might need to petrol to take DB to the doctors and i'm also out tomorrow night just for a wander round the shops so again should only need to spend a couple of £'s on some tea.
I'm staying in Thursday and Friday so should be nice and cheap and maybe even a couple of NSD's.

    To Do's Today:
    - Work until 3:40pm.
    - Go out for tea with friends.
    - Chill out.

Easy peasy day today, hope everyone is well.

    Morning all,

So it's official... i'm rubbish with money!
I spent too much yesterday, nothing compared to what I used to spend but still way more than I should have done.
I did have a lovely day out with DB though so it was worth it. We went to the cinema on 2 4 1 and then for a carvery and went shopping where I bought a dressing gown, some pajamas and some slippers all for £8. You have to love Primani.
As you can see I have now paid less off my overdraft .
I have everything crossed that a contract comes up soon for DB!

    Anyway onwards and upwards.
I don't have much left in my purse but it's money day tomorrow so anything left over can go in the change pot. There might be a pound or so.

Hope everyone else is doing better than me,
    Cup_Cake xx
