Amazon prime delivery method has yours changed recently ?

Just to add to this, we've noticed that Prime seems to have fallen to pieces, we have items that are almost a week overdue - it's up for renewal at the end of January and we simply are not going to bother.0
-
Why don't you then?
Yeah probably will do when I get the guts!
Have just been told by amazon that I can't have a refund for my item until it has 'officially' not shown up - at least another week! So I will have to wait 3 and a half weeks to not receive an item and not receive a refund for the item I did not receive!!!Fritterati Challenge for 2013:

Just reply saying that long a wait is not acceptable and they should cave in.
I have got used to how Amazon work now. They will fob you off with their first response, but if you say you are not willing to wait that long they should cave in and send a replacement or refund.
A lot different from how they used to be in the early days when they would send you a gift certificate anything that went wrong, like a delay in delivery.0 -
If they did go back to the practices of the old days and started sending gift certificates, they would probably have expired by the time they were actually delivered.0

Very odd they have refunded me without quibble on 2 items that still haven't arrived, in fact i didn't ask for a refund i only asked where they were0 -

I'll try that on Monday as I'm not expecting it to arrive to be honest. RM in our area is terrible, hence our Prime membership to make sure we actually get what we have ordered.
I'm just too polite on the phone - when I called today and asked for a refund, they just said 'be a bit more patient, your replacement item was only dispatched yesterday. We can't refund you yet.' I just didn't know what to say to that!!!Fritterati Challenge for 2013:

Okay, the latest is that the item has been sent "using Royal Mail.", no tracking number.
If it doesn't arrive tomorrow, I shall be making a complaint to customer service, I will make up an excuse like the item was meant to be for a birthday present, now thanks to you I have to buy another gift.
So did you get your delivery, Kite?0 -

Not been delivered, email sent to customer service, awaiting reply.
I wouldn't be surprised if they keep doing it 1st class until mid-month when the customers whom got the trial come off prime.
I'm just looking at a random CD on Amazon, and it stills says "Get it Monday, Jan 10, Order within 16hr 41min", what service would they use to fulfil that promise?0 -
I've been receiving a similar service from Amazon.
I started my Amazon Prime subscription in September and everything was being sent Royal Mail Special Delivery and City-Link Next Day.
However, since mid December all my purchases have been sent using Royal Mail Special Delivery.
I have contacted their customer support services numerous times, and keep getting generic replies. However, one member of staff extended my Prime subscription for an extra month.
In the Prime terms and conditions it does state,
"Amazon.co.uk does not guarantee One-Day delivery of items within the estimated transit time or by the estimated delivery date. For Express and Evening delivery guarantees please see their respective terms and conditions."
However, I take this to mean that once Amazon has sent the item using One-Day delivery (i.e. Royal Mail Special Delivery) they cannot 100% guarantee that it'll reach you next day - i.e. there may be a mess up with Royal Mail.
Under no circumstances is Royal Mail First Class a One-Day delivery service and I have repeatedly told Amazon customer services this. They don't seem to understand that I am NOT frustrated that my item arrived late, I am frustrated because there has been no attempt made by Amazon to send it to my address within one day.
I certainly feel robbed by Amazon as during the trial everything was sent Special Delivery - now I feel that they have my money they are giving me a rubbish service.
Oh and by the way - it used to say on the terms and conditions that all Amazon Prime deliveries required a signature. They have took this off their terms and conditions. A recent Amazon purchase of mine (ironically, a Kindle) was sent to me First Class (that said Premium?) and "NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED". This is (was?) breaking their own terms and conditions. By requiring a signature it would require at least recorded delivery - or Special Delivery like we should be receiving.
Where do we go from here? It is only £50 but it's the principle of the matter. We've all been conned.0
