He also told me that he is moving in with twin2. So I have now got to change my housing benefit/council tax benefit, and my taxcredits and Child benefit. This will affect the budget even harder and I am not going to be able to help any of the family anymore.
Then twin2 rang me to tell me she had run out of electric, used up the emergency button, and was I going over there. I said NO. NO I AM NOT GOING TO GO OVER AND NO I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO GIVE HER. So she could ask someone else, or use candles tonight. But of course that means that she cannot cook.
I already gave her some food yesterday. I also borrowed the change off of my Mum to give her the busfare to go and sign on today.!

So I am really annoyed today.

I am just wondering whether even with losing DS' child benefit and tax credit you will be in the same position because you no longer have to feed him (and buy whatever else he needs plus the additional expense on the internet I think it was) and also no longer have to give him money each week like you have been doing. (Not that you need to tell anyone this, let them think you are skint and then they won't ask to borrow anymore!!)

If you don't get full housing benefit now then you will get more now he has left as income has gone down by more than what the premiums are so hopefully you might be better off.

I am not sure what to suggest about Twin 2 but I assume she thought she did not need to worry about electricity as you would help out once she ran out of money. Is there anyway she can plan ahead so each time she gets her benefit money (I assume fortnightly) she can buy enough elec for 2 weeks instead of 1 week and planning to buy more the following week but then spending the money?

I think you mentioned the other day that you pay some bills for Twin 1 still, does Twin 2 and DS get the same amount given to them for bills/items because it might seem a bit unfair from their point of view which is why they expect you to help them out all the time.

Hope you and Molly manage to fit in the spa day - you both certainly need it.

Glad the turkeys are sporting thier new coats! I will make some more soon.

Re the money. DS was getting more then twin1. Twin2 was getting less, as originally she had her BF supporting her. Laterly she has been receiving more money as she has been able to tap into the DLA since her reports etc, and this also gave her extra credits with her jobseekers, so she has a bigger income considerably then twin1.
However twin1 was also told that what I help with would need to be drastically reduced, and if not stopped. She has some unfair disadvantages as she is being made to pay back Tax credits that were being paid to her when DGD was first removed from her, and to be fair she had started to give some of it to me, once she realised the placement was going to be a longtime, and before the Social started to give me funds. So the payback is crippling her. So I feel I should at least help her to make up her shortfall their.
DS has been very bitter that I have given the twins money and not enough to him! He has had £30 a week in his pocket, could have had food here, if he was here to have it. Always had more when at home, and had me pay for his bus pass, and his clothes. So with his EMA if he had bothered to go to college he would have been on a good wack!
Well they are all going to learn the hard way. Cos I am not going to be walked over anymore.
I put my foot down with BF, and I am doing the same with them!. Tough love as you say.
All I shall do is point them in the right direction to access the help that is available. Its going to be tough I know.

If you are wondering what Iam doing up. I couldnt sleep. The front gate was banging in the wind, and my worries about the budget was on my mind. So once again I have come downstairs, and am having a cup of tea.
I was going to sort out my budget a bit further, but I think that CW is working on it, as there was a note from OpenOffice that it was being accessed, and she is kindly looking at where I have gone so blooming wrong!. Ha. I am useless at the spread sheet, and dropped using my microsoft money so long ago, that if I signed into it, it would say I was very rich in deed! As the scheduled payments would be there, but nothing else! and as I have noticed I am so way off budget, that my spending was rather different! . Oh well, I will just have to number crunch another time.
I just hope it doesnt keep me awake too long!

Well it is nearly 3AM!!!! and I have been working on my reduced budget plan. I am very worried indeed. Taking into account the first quarters figures, and adapting the projected figures for the year now. I am taking a reduction of a good £5,000. However I theoretically will be reducing my outgoings for DS, but that also means I have to do the same for the twins too. So I have set a limit to cover the year as the same amount for each of them. (Except biggest of Mooloo's but she had some funds last year for her house deposit, which was about fair ). However if I can not give them anymore I will come in just about on the new budget. As long as i reduce all my outgoings on petrol, food, fuel, and toiletries etc etc. So no more letting them raid the cupboards when they visit! my redcross parcels to them will have to re thought, as the budget has to be reduced.
So if the twins want to know why its all dried up, they can ask thier brother. He will have to make do with earning his own way now!.
And with that note, I am going to go to bed!.

Sorry you could not sleep, hopefully you managed a few hours.

Thanks for clarifying the situation with the money - you certainly were the open bank of mum weren't you?

Twin 1 should not be paying back her Tax Credits ovepayment at a rate she cannot afford. For people on JSA it is usually about £10 per month, if she really has no money they will hold her account for 1 year and then review it.

I have families on more money than Twin 1 but their Overpayment is on hold, could you write the letters or of course I don't mind helping draft a letter for you.

I don't expect any turkey saddles made before you go on holiday, hopefully once you come back I will have some feedback as I need to wait until the stags have tested them also!!!

It was quite funny last night because these saddles are longer, we put them on correctly but then they ride up like capes and one of the females was running round like Superwoman with a cape flowing at the back!!! Shame I couldn't get a picture!!

Perhaps I made them too long then? As they were a little longer then 2" you had asked for, as I had added seam allowance and then of course when I made them I had bound them, so it didnt shorten them! Stupid me.

Re the twin1, as she is under 25, she is currently getting only £90 a fortnight, and with a house to run, thats not easy! Especially when the house is all electric, and the storage heaters have never worked properly so she has used fan heaters. We have written to tax credits and are in hope of the delay in payments. We are waiting for their reply. So fingers crossed.
No doubt there are plenty of people on this, which is a fearful thought.
I will have to check what DS will get, but it wont be much as he is only 18, and he has walked out of education, and home?
Twin2's is changing at the moment, just getting the DLA through etc so I am not sure of the exact funds. However we will have to see.
Meanwhile they have been told my money is stopping this week, and so is theirs! (from me). Its going to be difficult for us all. But thats the way it goes.
I will gladly sit with them and do a budget, I have directed them to this website many times, and given them the loan on my MSE books, and plenty of other ones on savings etc/living frugally etc etc but they dont really bother to read them at all.

My matteress arrived at 7.15 this morning. So its half way up the stairs on its side. As DGD was still asleep in bed, and so was her Mum, I will get help to move it up stairs later. And put the other one? Maybe in DS's room today, or possibly down the garden in the shed, until I can get someone to take it away!. The council charge around £20 to remove it. So I will have to see.!

I still didnt get much sleep, the light on the house across the road was blinking on and off all the time. I will definitely have to have darker/heavier curtains in my bedroom!. I also had very weird dreams in my half sleep state.!! So I am exhausted, sore and bone weiry! Oh well I may have to go back to bed when DGD is in Nursery!. Not what I had wanted to do for the day. But I cannot see me coping this evening if not.

Why not freecycle the mattress? Green and saves you paying to have it taken away?

It was not a very comfortable matteress, it was a cheap one from BritishHeartFoundation in the first place. (Although new). I can feel all the springs in it, so I had to have a duvet cover under me as well as ontop of me!!

It's freecycle though - just be honest when you list it and it may still be better than someone who hasnt got a mattress at all.

Well I will give it a go. But I better do it when I have tidied up a bit!!! ha ha. There is a bit of a mess today.! The kind that creeps up on you when your not looking!.
I have a few other things that I will Freecycle when i get back, as I dont need the fireside companion set, or the fireguards as this house doesnt have an open fire, like the cottage did.
I will get my head around them and a few other bits and pieces and get my act together! so much to do, I wish I had the energy to do it all though!
Today I wanted to sew, but I had to go back to bed and sleep this morning. Mind you when i went to top up the electric I did it at the shop near my mum and dad's becuase I was taking twin1 back home. I called in on my Mum and Dad and saw my brother! he had surprised them when passing through from a job. So I was lucky. I havent seen him for about a year, maybe more! So that has made my Day. Even if my blooming son hasnt.
This afternoon he has called me, and said he may be going back to college!!!!!!!! We will see. I think its a ploy to get me off of his back. I shall have to see what he is playing at. Told him that he still has to come home though or it will still affect the benefits I am entitled to. So the council saying my Tax credits have stopped may very well be right. I was unable to get through yesterday as they were changing their computer system the answer machine said.
Right I think I may just make a move on the pile of washing at least. I have a lot of wet washing, as it rained all last night, and has been wet and windy here all day. I may need to tumble dry the stuff, as I have to get sorted for our holiday!.

Oh I am so looking forward to a few days away!!
