Thanks for the suggestions on the cds ladies, I will try freecycle first and if no takers I'll try and find out about recycling at the uniWhat a great thread! Good stuff.
Query: when does decluttering go too far?! I gave away too many clothes when I moved last year and I think I got rid of too much! And what do you do with stuff that isn't good enough to give away?
In my opinion de-cluttering can never go too far!! Although this might be a heading in that direction...
I am selling the things that I think I can get money for on ebay - mostly clothes and shoes. You could also try a car boot. Ultimately space is more important to me then getting money for the stuff, but it is nice to get something back
Why do you say you gave away too many clothes? Are you short of clothes now? Sounds like the perfect excuse for a shopping trip
Today I have decluttered a load of ebay parcels to the post office, and 2 overflowing carrier bags to the charity shop. Also got another carrier bag to put in the textile recycling when I go to tescos laterHopefully a rice cooker will also be going to a freecycler today - have been waiting for it to go for weeks and I'm sick of the sight of it.

Hi all well i have found some lights in with a load of my exes stuff. Doubt he'd know they were there so i've put them on ebay. RRP is £30 each! But on for £14.99 so i've put 5 on together with a starting bid of £50. Already got watchers and i figure even if they sell for way less than their true worth then its still only a gain for me! There are also sensor taps and other random stuff like that! Hes really really annoyed me so this is giving me great pleasure! xIf music be the food of love then play on"No matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow". ღ ~Maya AngelouDoing it for my kids. Had a quick sort of the bathroom cabinet & sorted out all of the storage boxes in there so that like products are together ( hair stuff in one, face stuff in another etc) it is amazing what was lurking in there - explained system to DH so that he could find things so after his shower he chucked all products he had used in the same box - GRRRRRR - perhaps I should just put 1 of every type of product in a box & tell him to use that box only. Any way it means I can see what I have & should be able to use up things before buying more.
3 hours at home tomorrow morning so I think I will tackle the girls toy boxes - so much easier if they are at school & cannot see what I am removing from their cluttery mess
Little & often seems to be working better for me as last year I was trying to tackle too much at once & being put off - I know we are only in January but so far so goodDeclutter 2023 110/520

hope people are having more luck than me on ebay, my table didnt sell
so will be going on freecycle shortly.
not much decluttering this weekend as had my Dsis to stay. DH did take a car load of cardboard and a bag of rags to the tip though.
have been pricing up a fireproof document safe today - proper ones are not cheap! looking at £60 for a 60 min fire resistant box which will hold A4 docs. I have had a massive paper document declutter and need somewhere safe for wills, passports and so on.0 -

hi everyone!
not much decluttered here today as it's a busy week, but managed one little job while I was cooking. all my spices/herbs are in a drawer so I can only see the jars from above (and have to pick each jar up to find what I need) Decided to stick little labels on the top of each jar so I can see at a glance what I have. Found out we have 3 jars of chilli powder as well as some things I don't remember buying and therefore never use (something called "season-all" for example?) so it's another mini challenge to use those things up.
found a bookcase that will fit the alcove in living room perfectly. Took DH to go and see it but shop was closed today, grr! When I get the bookcase we will pull down 2 shelves we currently have in living room and sort out all those things - mainly photo albums but also a basket of things cleared from my Grandma's flat after she died. Been putting off doing that for long time now.
well done for everyone for all your efforts - large or small - we're all going in the same direction, so keep posting!weaving through the chaos...0
