  • Out today is one large box, with a jacket inside returned to allsaints - think I might have hassle getting my money back as it has been a while since I received it but we'll see.

One very small ebay parcel posted.

Planning on listing more ebay items later.

Was thinking last night, even though I'm not managing to get rid of a huge amount of things at once I am getting rid of a couple of things each and not bringing anything new in (apart from food which doesn't stay around long!) so it might be a bit slow but it can only get better!

I managed to get another 7 things declutterd - big bottles etc from the bathroom not used for months and months - the 7 items filled a carrier bag. That's 7 less things that are sitting around collecting dust.

that's how I feel too. today I managed to take 4 things to CS, use up a sachet of handcream, puts lots of chilli powder in dinner (I have 3 jars of it!)...sure there was something else but can't remember. oh that's it...instead of cooking more rice I used some leftover rice from freezer, and made desert with jelly and evap milk that's been lurking in the cupboard. so baby steps but in right direction!

need to relist some things on freecycle this week
    weaving through the chaos...

  • Hi everyone! Had a few issues with the computer over the last few days so not been able to post...but ive still been decluttering! DS school asked for socks- they are making puppets this week!- so I sorted out my sock draw and donated a bag of old/ odd socks, and sorted out the rest of my underwear/ swimming costumes (I had no idea I had so many!) and pjs too, and stuck a big bag in the clothes recycling bin on the school run this afternoon. I want to start on the paperwork we have...we were talking about it last night and DH rekons that we could get rid of anything we can access online...bank statements, phone bills etc...if thats the case then almost all of the great big boxes under the bed can go!!

Had a little look about for something to add to the charity bag today, but couldn't find anything, I wanted to keep it all! :o

The cupboard of doom in the spare room needs sorting out as I can't fit the christmas decorations back in there and I'm still putting off the pantry tidy up (this is one of my mini goals for January, so need to face this soon!)

    In

Two books borrowed from sister - have wanted to read this series for a while (Twilight), so will start tonight and hopefully give them back next week if they're as good as the hype!

Free sample of Twinings tea (only two teabags, thought that was a bit tight!)

    RSPB big garden birdwatch pack

    Out

Broken PC monitor, power supply, several cardboard boxes, two old plastic chopping boards, non working flourescent tube, broken lawnmower, saucepan with the enamel chipped off, engine oil and damaged golfing bag taken to the tip. Some of this stuff has been lying around for ages, so I'm pleased we've got it out of the way.

Used up toiletries as part of that challenge - another bottle hits the...bin (non recyclable sadly). Will decant some bubble bath into a pump bottle to help use that up :)

Must do some washing tonight, the mountain is beginning to grow again :(

    How's everyone else getting on?

(And Callisto - get on with that cupboard!! - I think you posted pics? Then we can see a before and after to help inspire us :)
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

  • Well people thank you very much for the inspiration - i've managed to clear out DD1s wardrobe - it now only has clothing that fits - 3 bags of stuff currently working its way on to ebay.
dd2 newborn clothing followed suit, along with a laptop that's just been sat in a cupboard, Toys ...oh boy toys - charity shopped that lot.
Purged the kitchen of pans and tubs that don't get used, chocolate fountain that hubby put away dirty..
And managed to ensure that the 3 tins of chocolates no longer cluttered the cupboard too:D
    Dining and Living room next
  • my god how do we accumulate all this junk?

just about to wrap 12 things for ebay so they will be gone tomorrow.

box of mugs, glasses, plates etc etc to a freecycler tomorrow evening

    the fight ensues!

  • I've managed to get rid of a few more things:

Out-an electric toothbrush and a torch which no longer work.

For the CS-a mobile phone holder in the form of a Hello Kitty car (don't ask).
