Well the wardrobe has been relieved of 25 items of clothing that are now ready to go to the charity shop! I am actually slightly embarrassed that I have so many clothes I never wear.
wow,well done Yorkshire Lass :T
While 'decluttering' some(!) of the ironing pile I found 2 things to add to the CS bag - a pyjama top & another top. A few more of OH's clothes now put in his new chest of drawers :j
Someone coming to pick up the old carpet tomorrow - she wants it to suppress weeds in her garden..

we have been de-cluttering since Christmas. Bought new tv and laptop and old ones went to tip and managed to fill the car up with loads of other stuff we had chucked in garage. Just decorated a spare bedroom and chucked loads of old cd,s stored in there. Cleaned my wardrobe out today and sorted all my clothes into outfits, one bag of clothes for charity shop and one for bin. Realized I have enough clothes to last a few years. Place is beginning to look much better and I can find things.0

Today I was undecided about what to tackle after work, the choice being sorting the boxes of kitchen stuff stored in the shed (for almost 2 years since we had the kitchen refitted), or cleaning and tidying the cupboard under the kitchen sink. As it was cold and raining when I got home, the cupboard under the sink won, and I will do the boxes in the shed when it gets a bit warmer!
Emptied and recycled: 2 spray bottles, a bottle from hand gel, (after transferring the remaining contents into another half empty bottle), and a can of polish which just had a tiny bit in.
Binned: a manky cloth, a washing powder scoop, a net for washing tablets (as don't use them anymore), an old toothbrush (which I'd kept for cleaning but already have another), an old pair of rubber gloves, and a few other random items.
Put some excess items into the shed: bottle of Stardrops (have another one and a little bit in cupboard), 3 x 1 litre bottles of fabric conditioner, bottle of handwash, can of air freshener, pack of oven pride (found 2 packs), a can of polish, a can of fly spray, and an empty ice cream tub, which used to contain washing powder but I now have different tubs for that, so I will use this one to store things in the shed.
Also put the remainder of a box of tea bags, and a jar of coffee, into their storage jars and recycled the packaging.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Well, the garden looks a whole lot better and it even met with OH approval. Need to tackle the patio next, quite a few dead things in pots which isnt a good look. Raining this morning so that might have to wait.
Todays task is paperwork in our office. Want to get organised so that I can do accounts and tax return for OH early. Need to get the shredder out and I have a feeling there are quite a few catalogues to rip up and put in the paper bag.
Also need to get the clothes I sorted yesterday to the charity shop. Was laid in bed last night thinking "oh I might take that cardigan out of the bag, I know I never wear it but its quite nice and there is loads of wear left in it" this sort of thinking explains why my wardrobe is so full to begin with!!!
Happy de-cluttering everyone.0 -
Bit of a mixed bag from me.
In:
Food shopping
Post - most of mine recycled, couple of OHs were ebay purchases.
Cheque from Lakeland for refund - will pay into account today.
Out:
42 brownie/guide badges sold to be posted at lunchtime.
All the recycling had been collected so three empty boxes ready to start to fill again.
Then have some pendings:
In a few bits of Soap and Glory, something from ASOS, some bits for ebay - mainly storage related, boxes from gift sets etc - trying to sort out my dressing table.
Out some more guiding bits I've hopefully sold on another forum - need to sort that today.
I agree with people that after the initial flurry of outs, it is a more steedy and stable process getting in to the habit of doing little and often and keeping an eye on the ins too. Everyone is doing so well.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

In - three new tops for DS1 - but will be decluttering his wardrobe of the things that don't fit/are past their best later, when he gets home, so it doesn't count!
Out - returned some clothes to Wallis.Enjoying the power and freedom of letting things go.

This morning I have:
done 2 loads of washing
sorted some freebie CD's, a couple of audio cassettes, some pens, and 5 more videos for CS (got loads more vids but as I've not watched a lot of them I'm reluctant to get rid, lol!), also binned a few non-working pens
took the dead flowers out of my vases and put them in recycling bin
sorted the corner in the lounge where newspapers, magazines etc get dumped, and got rid of a pile of stuff including a T*sco direct catalogue (spring & summer 2010), 2 booklets that I got from phone shop when OH and I were deciding what phones to get each other for Christmas, and some newpapers and mags
managed to put some books, that were on the floor in the corner, onto the shelving unit as I had a bit of room after removing the vids
shredded a pile of paperwork and some old credit/debit cards
I am now going to have some lunch, and then I will put all our DVDs onto the DVD rack (which we've had empty in the spare room for months), and put a few piles of CDs back in their racks.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Hello everyone, I thought I'd join you from over on the No Buying Toiletries thread.
That declutter is going well.
So cluttered was I that I have made a vow not to spend ANY cash on toiletries this year and to use up what I have including the stuff kept for 'best' (Pink Rose Candle Philosophy, see my signature). Essentials - toothpaste, deodorant will be bought with Boots points or Tesco vouchers.
I'm disabled and work mostly from home so need to keep a better living and working space for myself.
I've had a bag of books waiting to be charity-shopped since before Christmas, so I shall go and do that this afternoon. Joining them are two sets of bucket stilts that I've had for c. 15 years as both registered childminder (now an adult education e-tutor) and grandmother.
Looking forward to reading stories to keep me motivated!
Andrea aka 'And'Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0
