I sent one of my used printer cartridges to The Recycling Factory and got my acct credited £4.10. I got £17 just after Christmas for others that had been lying around. Am most pleased.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Our local council offers a bulk rubbish collection of 6 items for a set fee of around £10. A black bag of rubbish counts as 1 item. I have a pillow and 3 quilts to dispose of, alongside my old divan and mattress.
I'm just off on the trike to buy some wheelie bin liners to count as one black bag.
I know this is a bit sneaky, but they are pretty good about picking things up! I'm also taking four impulse buy clothing items that I've hung on to for years to the CS, along with 2 sets of suction safety handles that wouldn't work on my slightly textured tiles.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Wow!! Everyone is doing so well. I have only just got back to reading threads after a break over Xmas! But decluttering begins again this weekend!!! OH and I have got two days off to make a four day weekend so that we can make a start! Bought some boxes last weekend and some larger plastic ones for all the stuff in the loft!! Most of the stuff is in tatty old cardboard boxes so hopefully it will seen tidier (even if its not!!!)
I'm going to set us a goal of 150 items out by next Monday evening - 1st February!!! Will keep you posted - wish us luck!!
By the way this decluttering is highly contagious!!!! My daughter has just sent 200 - yes 200 - cds off to Music Magpie and my son has cleared out 60 CDs DVDs and games!!! Other daughter is moving to London in a few weeks so she will be clearing her room too - I hope.
Good Luck everyone!Sealed Pot Challenge 2013 Member No 689 - £120/£300

Just went on to their website and they do not take my Epson printer cartridges - Boo Hoo!
And they don't have any cheapies for my printer either - but thanks for the idea.0 -

Haven't counted the amount of items i've got rid of over the past 2 weeks but it amounts to hundreds.Today have been sorting and shredding paperwork and now have it in 2 little folders instead of 8 zillion bags:D:D:D"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"
