A quick question for my fellow de-clutterers - what is the best way to recycle cds? I recently sorted through our cds and sending some to music magpie and some to charity but I also have a bundle of cd cases which don't have the cds in and cds which I don't have the cases for. Can I put them all in the recycling box? or will the cds themselves need to go elsewhere? I'm sick of them cluttering up one side of the sofa!0

I know people who hang CDs up as bird scarers over their vegetable garden or allottment - do you know any gardeners who might like them?0 -
Thanks TK. I've had 2 teas but another wont hurt
Well done to juli on her 100 - your storming along!
Felineprincess - re: CDs -you could try freecycling them as bird scarers for allotments?
Edit: my suggestion is identical to juli's!Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

here's my check list:
To Argos to get yet another bookcase for the conservatory, so although it's another thing in, it's going to house the rest of our books and get them off the floor
OH to the tip to take the built in bed base (badly made by previous owner) that we knocked out several months ago plus a few other bits and pieces
OH has a couple of things he needs to do in town and I need to get some food shopping in - haven't done a proper shop for ages.
Empty, clean and re-fill the kitchen food cupboards before shopping - I know there's stuff in there I don't know about!
Would like to empty, clean and tidy all the other kitchen cupboards too if I have time
After DD1 gets home from school (DD2 finishes at 12) we're going to tackle the playroom, well, make a start on it at least and see what we can find to sell, chuck or donate
About to get DD1, but so far we've NOT been to Argos as we checked online and the bookcase is out of stock, but took a load of old wood from the spare room and cardboard and other bits from the garage to the tip and stopped at the supermarket round the corner on the way home.
Cos of doing things this way round I didn't get to clean the food cupboards out, but will do it this week.
I've been through my 2 concertina box files and put away the bits of paperwork that have been hanging around, and also managed to recycle quite a bit out of it.
Next job - the dreaded playroom when DD1 gets back!Extra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000

I bought mine into work (I work at a University) and put them in the CD recycling here - ours were mainly software ones and a few randoms.
I know that won't help everyone but hopefully will help someone.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

What a great thread! Good stuff.
Query: when does decluttering go too far?! I gave away too many clothes when I moved last year and I think I got rid of too much! And what do you do with stuff that isn't good enough to give away?0 -
14: dvds sent back, subscription cancelled
15: jumper to cs bag
16:cds tidied into drawer(that has been housing illfitting undies for way too long:rotfl:
17: a gift set, opened and tidied away
I have actually spotted what could be the bottom of the washing basket, I might be wrong, its been a while!0
