A quick question for my fellow de-clutterers - what is the best way to recycle cds? I recently sorted through our cds and sending some to music magpie and some to charity but I also have a bundle of cd cases which don't have the cds in and cds which I don't have the cases for. Can I put them all in the recycling box? or will the cds themselves need to go elsewhere? I'm sick of them cluttering up one side of the sofa!

8/9/10 2010 diary, 2009 diary, 2010 calendar
11/12/13/14/15/16 socks, jumper, blouse, shower puff, empty facial scrub, bubble bath
17 found a drawer liner box with only 1 left in - used it & binned box
18/19/20 cassette player adaptor, net curtains, luggage tag
21/22 paperwork for job interviews, old insurance paperwork
23/24/25/26 technical mags, 2 old software training guides,holiday souvenir leaflets
27-39 13 books to CS
Plus 4 things listed on ebay and 3 books listed on Green Metropolis that I won't count until they sell.

And - only 1 thing in - So 38/100 so far.

Fantastic work, while feeling ill and keeping people motivated, I think you dererve a cuppa and your feet up!

I know people who hang CDs up as bird scarers over their vegetable garden or allottment - do you know any gardeners who might like them?

About to get DD1, but so far we've NOT been to Argos as we checked online and the bookcase is out of stock, but took a load of old wood from the spare room and cardboard and other bits from the garage to the tip and stopped at the supermarket round the corner on the way home.
Cos of doing things this way round I didn't get to clean the food cupboards out, but will do it this week.
I've been through my 2 concertina box files and put away the bits of paperwork that have been hanging around, and also managed to recycle quite a bit out of it.
Next job - the dreaded playroom when DD1 gets back!

I bought mine into work (I work at a University) and put them in the CD recycling here - ours were mainly software ones and a few randoms.

I know that won't help everyone but hopefully will help someone.

What a great thread! Good stuff.

Query: when does decluttering go too far?! I gave away too many clothes when I moved last year and I think I got rid of too much! And what do you do with stuff that isn't good enough to give away?

17: a gift set, opened and tidied away
I have actually spotted what could be the bottom of the washing basket, I might be wrong, its been a while!
