Still waiting for OH to go through the videos. Not had a good week , received notice of impending redundancy , they have a month to find me a new job then im on 3 months notice and still no sign of this baby . Can feel myself slipping into depression once more . Really at a loss as what to do . Failed to get to two close friends funerals this week as well. So all in all not felt like de cluttering much. :(

Keep your chin up dizzy buff, hope the new baby comes out soon safe & sound, sorry about your friends - can you do a little something at home to remember them, light a candle or something? Do you enjoy your job, if not it could be an opportunity for a new start? Here's a big hug anyway xx

Loads more papers have made their way to the fire today, :jso living room mostly cleared for tomorrow. Even our friend who came to help decluttered a bit - he threw a few old receipts from his wallet on the fire :D

    Hello All,

Just reporting in on mineallmine's mini-challenge. Today I have managed:

    11. CD player (Freecycle)
    12. Fondue set (CS bag)
    13. Poster (CS bag)
    14. Book (CS bag)
    15. Game (CS bag)
    16. Tons of cardboard boxes for electrical items (Recycle Centre tomorrow)
    17. Bin bag of polystyrene from above (bin)
    18. Bag of kids clothes (Freecycle)

Well I didn't manage 20 items but big thanks to mineallmine for the challenge!

    Will carry on decluttering tomorrow.

Now... where's that glass of wine....?

    Aquamarina x
Woo hoo! :j:j:j Lots of things to charity and recycling :T Have you thought of putting the polystyrene on freecycle - maybe useful for gardeners to put in pots to help drainage :A

    Enjoy the wine:beer:

    OUT
3 manky tubes of glue that had been living in my pot for ages.
leftovers from scrapbooking my baby's first christmas. (great as all cards, photos etc that were piled up are all now enjoyably accessible.
1 book in the post to a deserving person.
1 file into my archive boxes. Straight in when it was finished with instead of hanging around for months.

Still a lot to do but it feels achievable over the year.

  • So pleased. Spent an hour and a half clearing the the cupboard in DS bedroom. I now have a bin bag full of broken, grubby and unsaleable toys to go to the tip plus a bin bag of clothes to go to the charity shop and a pile of stuff to go on Ebay. This means that the box of decent toys to take to the car boot sale in the summer can now be moved from the landing to his cupboard.

I also found a brand new pair of trousers that have never been worn. I was also thinking that DS needed some new school sweatshirts but have worked out that he only ever wears the 2 that stay on the top of the pile and he has another underneath that has hardly been worn!

One of my guilty habits is filling bags with stuff to go to the charity shop and putting them somewhere out of the way for 6 months. Have put everything in the car to get rid of tomorrow. Going to start on the wardrobe tomorrow, doing one section at a time. Thanks for motivating me!

For the 1st time in 2 1/2 months my DDs went to stay with my ex overnight and OH and I have done...well, not a lot in the house. But, he's got tomorrow booked off work and we have a long list of things to get done after dropping off the girls at school and playgroup, so here's my check list:

To Argos to get yet another bookcase for the conservatory, so although it's another thing in, it's going to house the rest of our books and get them off the floor
OH to the tip to take the built in bed base (badly made by previous owner) that we knocked out several months ago plus a few other bits and pieces
OH has a couple of things he needs to do in town and I need to get some food shopping in - haven't done a proper shop for ages.
Empty, clean and re-fill the kitchen food cupboards before shopping - I know there's stuff in there I don't know about!
Would like to empty, clean and tidy all the other kitchen cupboards too if I have time
After DD1 gets home from school (DD2 finishes at 12) we're going to tackle the playroom, well, make a start on it at least and see what we can find to sell, chuck or donate :)
    Extra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000

Had another go at decluttering DD's room. I lost count of all of it, but reckon I got at least 20 books out (all to go to CS), 10 hair slides (broken) etc so going to take my total up to 233. Not bad eh!
