The Great Declutter Part 3 - 2011

Well, the bloke came and collected the varnish from the bin-cupboard as per arrangement whilst I was out in Sunday evening, so that's 2 good tins re-homed. I'm up-to-date with the recycling but there'll be a change next week as the Shoebox and its neighbours go onto alternate weekly collections. As per usual, we've come up to bin day and my non-recyclables add up to one small bagful so won't bother putting them out (seems a waste of a black sack). The rotables are in the Dalek up on the allotment so there's nothing in there to get whiffy. Used the good old Flylady technique of 15 minutes by the timer to face a Hotspot; a pile of paper-y junk interleaved with misc. Found some things which I hadn't seen for a while, plus the table-top lol. Might even have to eat off it instead of a tray on my lapEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Please don't bin textiles - they can be recycled.
Our local tip takes textiles and charities will get something back for textiles that can't be sold that are given to them (better to put in bins in carparks than to shops though!)
Yorkshire Air Ambulance specifically say this on their website: http://www.yaa.org.uk/recycling/
I know we're all about getting clutter out of our house but I think doing that repsonsibily is very important too.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Just decluttered few ebay parcels to the post office, also a huuuuge shoebox with over the knee boots inside finally sent back as I was sent the wrong size. I am making slow progress but I'm getting there. My goal is to be able to get as much stuff out the living room so I can redecorate which will be hard work as we will have to do it in sections as there is no where else to put the furniture thats in the room.
Very impressed with all the de-cluttering everyone else is doing!0 -
Managed to sort out the airing cupboard today and DH helped for all of 5 minutes - still its a start.
Out went the following -
1 hot water bottle - c.s.
1 old towel - local garage for rags
2 blankets - appropriate bin at local tip
1 Travel scrabble - c.s.
2 new table cloths - c.s.
bag rubbish - bin
broken plastic box - recycled
todays junk mail - recycled
2 old newspapers - recycled
there was something else but cant for the life of me think what it was now.
Everyone is doing very well, if we put it all together just think how big the pile would be  :rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl:MARCH £62.38/2500 -

!
Totally! I'm always thinking to myself "what can I get rid of next?" and not only that, I'm also trying to get my brother de-cluttering too! He is a hoarder in the making!
Also, when I'm getting rid of things I sometimes think "I wonder if so and so would want this" and then I think "no, I better not ask them - they have enough clutter already!" :rotfl:0 -
a quick look - looks like everyone's been busy
We did some decluttering in the garden yesterday - I cut down a black bin bag that had got stuck in the Rose Bush and bravely ventured across the lawn to get another plastic bag that had blown over from somewhere.
Put compost in compost bin outside & we cut down some brambles (once they dry out we'll burn them).
Today have done some 'electronic' decluttering - managed to clear about 1000 emails  (only 2000 to go :rotfl:).
Tomorrow have 2 bags & a bit to go to the Charity Shop :j

I have two cupboards that the DD's have happily stashing all manner of college letters, out of date beauty brochures, bank statements with accompanying red letters, hair bobbles, chewing gum wrappers and dead flies for all I know to sort out tomorrow.
I go armed with a shredder, bin bags and fearless heart.
If I am not out by tea time will someone come look for me?0 -
Feeling very virtuous!
8 Ebay parcels sent this morning, 1 Green Metropolis package sent and 1 item that had been returned by the PO by accident resent to its rightful owner. Three more ebay sales tonight, which I will get off tomorrow.
Also finally used my freegle membership and somebody is coming collecting a bag of my daughter's outgrown stuff tomorrow. It feels nice to be doing somebody a good turn!
