Starting to feel as though I'm making headway, slowly! Went through all my clothes, shoes and jewellery this week and now have 20 items listed on ebay (could only be bothered to list anything I thought might go for a decent amount - two bids already!) and four bags ready to go to the charity shop. I even sorted the -ahem- unwanted Christmas gifts from Granny into a seperate bag to go to a ch shop in my work town rather than my home town where she might see them - super organised of me I think!

I'm going to sit and cut up some old blouses for fabric now whilst I watch TV, then try and get the rest of my photos organised. I'd like to try and sort through all my paperwork this week but I've just realised I only have Wednesday evening free and then I'm away at the weekend :undecided

EDIT - should probably mention the tin of Quality Street and box of After Eights I've also managed to 'declutter' over the course of the weekend! :D

  • Got some tidying/decluttering done today, sorted out the pile of junk infront of the sofa which as been annoying me for ages - various things put in recycling, bin, cupboard under stairs and bedroom. Got a large soapstone chinese vase pending out, along with a large chinese soapstone object whos purpose I'm unsure of. Also a few ebay auctions sold today so will pack them up ready to go later.

went in loft for first time in ages...didn't have a lot of time but managed to clear a few bits out - some for CS, some for bin, one thing for freecycle. found a shelf I bought for the bathroom that I was going to ebay but we've decided to put it up

then I started to sort out my drawer of knitting/sewing stuff - to be continued!

trying not to pull out more stuff than I can sort and deal with in one sitting, if that makes sense. otherwise it just makes the house even messier and I get overwhelmed
    weaving through the chaos...

Hello!!! I often pop in to this thread to read but never add anything.

We are hoping to put our house up for sale in March & have started the pre-marketing clearout. Last weekend I sorted the childrens bedrooms, they now look nice & clear. Some of it went to creche, some of it went in the loft! This weekend we freecycled 6 boxes of stuff we were going to car boot (gone to a theatre group to car boot), OH did a much needed tip run. I also cleaned out the rabbits & pond filter (a bit too cold but the filter needed cleaning!).

Lots more to do but it feels as if we are getting there.

I forced DH to go to Argos today and pick those boxes up for me. I think he was glad to escape actually (and try out lo's new car seat).

DS and I had a very productive afternoon, sorting out 6 years of business paperwork, filing it all neatly and then filling the boxes. Enough boxes spare for a co-ordinated look for the next 15 years!

I'm pleased with what we've done, but will be more pleased tomorrow when my brother picks up the shelves and the filing cabinet. Still got some reorganisation to do before we can declutter my 'daily use' cupboard. I have some craft hobbies, as well as lo, as well as work that I do at home, so gone are the days I could sit and do something for 8 hours nonstop. I need to try and get organised enough to snatch an hour here and there without spending three quarters of the time setting up and packing away.

DH is at work tomorrow so I can do some stuff without consulting him, lol, so that will be good.

Lounge looks better with all that utter toot and tat gone.

    Challenge for next week is::j
Catch up on all washing and sort through all the clothes and bedding we have. That will take all week... But will start by:
...putting washing on overnight and when come home from work
...as stuff dries will give it a thorough lookover and decide whether to keep, charity or ragbag/fabric recycling
...it'll be good to see what bedsets we have as I never seem able to match everything up.:rotfl:

Great to see all the good work everyone has done:beer:
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

  • evening all,

I had a go at mineallmines 50 things over the weekend challenge and just about made it:

    3 bags of general rubbish
2 binliners of coat hangers (I swear they breed through the night in my house!)
    27 cds for charity shop
    10 cds given to friend
    1 toiletry
    2 books to cs
    1 ornamental bunch of twigs
    1 handbag to cs
1 bag paper waste to recycling

and to round that up to 50 - decluttered 1 chocolate orange and 1 bottle of merlot:rotfl:

well done mineallmine on exceeding the 50 things! and well done everyone else on all their hard work:T:T:T:T
