I finally got started today. I have been extremely ruthless and cleared my whole wardrobe and have a car full ready to take to the charity shop on Monday.
I am not bothering selling much on ebay from my clothes but do have a few older radley bags and a stunning brand new pair of Hobbs shoes (you know the moment love them so much, you ignore the fact in the shop that they just don't really fit!), which I will list.

Got rid of a set of shelves
All the tools, paint etc has gone into a spare cupboard in the kitchen
Understair cupboard now just has the things we need for self employment in
Also got a carrier bag of stuff to give to some children we know
Got rid of some old biscuit tins - the sort that will come in handy some day!
DH and I started to get a bit snappy with each other so we're calling it a day. He has just whizzed round with the vac so it feels like we've achieved something now - it didn't before.
Have a bit more to do in the morning so hoping to get rid of a filing cabinet.
I need some better storage really but I can't decide how best to organise it. Still we can see the floor again so am pleased about that.Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Hi, Can I join in? I really need a mammoth declutter. The tell-tale signs are every time we can't find something - which happened this afternoon - I realise how much Stuff there is! Plus whenever anyone comes to stay I spend the evenings of the previous week clearing stuff out the spare bedroom to make room for them.
Decluttering 50 things this weekend.
1-8 - mammoth amount of takeaway menus/brochures and gumpth (recycling)
9. rubbish bits (bin)
Hoping to target using up some more toiletries stash this weekend too. :ADeclutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

I have sorted half of the kitchen today. All the food cupboards and cleaning cupboard are done. Binned and recycled quite a lot of things. I have to do fridge/ freezer/ dishes/ pans drawers tomorrow though as I am going out tomorrow, they may have to wait till next weekend.
It's such a nice feeling to know where everything is in the kitchen!!
Happy decluttering

Thought I had made an impression on DH when I came home from work and he said he had filled a black bag from the bedroom for the CS, looking in the bag there is a huge parka coat and a couple of t-shirts, coat takes up biggest part of the bag! Oh well, at least he tried! Need to do it myself when he's not in to see what I'm binning as everytime I try to get rid of something he says keep that it might come in handy10

I so need to get on with the food cupboards. Still I have spent the last couple of weeks buying the bare minimum to run them down; so virtually nothing left in the fridge or freezer now. The food cupboard is just half full now; big improvement, at christmas I was nervous of opening it as so much was crammed in. I want to clean them, before getting a shop in.
I got some stuff on ebay too, hooray!
I wanted to do the count but given the sheer quantity of stuff I have cleared and the fact I have put it in the car I can't do it now. I think I will start with the count today and see what else I can clear.
I might go shopping later, I need a couple of new things for work. I did find an old monsoon top and they do that £10 off an item £50 or over if you take an old item back. LOL probably not very MSE or declutter friendly looking to spend your ebay sales money on new stuff LOL!

I've been lurking for a while now, and have found everyone really inspiring - thank you!
I had to share a funny thing from the last week. The decluttering has been going so well that my wheelie bin was full - but I needed to put more in. (Closed bin policy round here). So out comes the kitchen chair, and into the bin I climb to trample it all down - just as the workmen fitting next door's new windows come out for their coffee break! Still, the bin went from full to 2/3 full, so I think that counts as a result.:rotfl:
It's now been emptied again, so the work continues - bring on the next hundred!0
