My kids folded up all of the washing, put theirs away and then put ours on our bed for me! So happy, they did it all whilst I was making tea and only had a little bit of help from me. Clever little things :)

Aww, bles sthem, that's great. I love it when I put a pile of folded washing on the chest of drawers in the DDs room with the intention of coming back to put it away, and then when I go back in DD1 has put it all away :) We've got them well trained for a future of keeping the home decluttered and tidy lol

This week I managed to hand in one bag to the charity shops with some clothes that is now too small for me. This weekend we are planning on cutting the grass and tidy up in the garden so that the garden waste bin can be filled up when it is being emptied on Monday. I am planning on sorting out some folders and do some shredding.

    Good luck with your de-cluttering

kaz2904 & cat04 so glad you're both getting everyone trained and getting some help with keeping things ship shape. It's just me and OH here and my OH's worse than useless. I leave a list of things to be done - I'm being bossy. I don't and I get told that I need to say what I need doing or it won't get done - aaagh! We both work full time - OH 9-3ish 4 days a week and much longer hours 2 days a week (I'm not a tyrant I don't expect any help those days!) and I work relatively standard 9 - 5 ish although I have to get public transport home and my OH's home in 5mins with the car. I just want a hand with dishes, sorting out washing, taking the bin out etc. I don't expect help with decluttering because most of the clutter's mine! Any suggestions for a serious nudge in the right direction? It gets really fustrating when I get home at 6pm when OH's been home since 3, nothing's been done and then OH goes out to football after tea most nights a week and I'm left to play catch up.

Cat04, I suffer from sinusitis and pain is felt depending on which sinus cavaties are affected, if it is the lower facial sinuses it feels just like toothache, the first time I had this I thought I needed a dentist. Might be worth trying a nasal spray, decongestant or inhaling steam. I find that a hot shower and breathing in the steam provided relief albeit temporary.

    Good Luck

Autumn cleaning - getting ready for winter
DH was feeling energetic so we attacked the bedroom - pulled the bed out, rotated the underbed drawers & took down the old net curtains. Major work for us due to health problems, but well worth the aches and pains now.

    Binned:
    - dead trainers
    - 2 cushions
    - out of date ointments
    - 4 geriatric net curtains
    - a vacuum cleaner full of dust

    Charity shop:
    - 2 pairs shoes
    - suede boots
    - face massager
    - assorted unused xmas gifts

    Recycled:
    - several card board boxes
    - numerous receipts etc from DH's drawer
    - 2 wooden boxes

    Pass on:
    - 2 new teatowels
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.

Do please be careful, I have to limit myself due to a prolapsed disc, decluttering is done with great care.

  • Well not having such a good few weeks here - but have managed to clear my bedroom floor of all the stuffing from a toy sheep my lovely poodlecross dog decided to rip apart - darn't say what he was actually doing with the thing:eek:.

But I did try to take all my car bootble stuff to a table top sale -checked through it all redid labels etc, cleaned stuff etc only to find out it was a toy table top sale -:(

So never to be defeated, brought it home and listed 18 things of it on good ol' eb** - then tidily put it back in my room. Still looks like a mountain but I need to sell rather than give a way as I need to tighten my money belt even further.

but it means I can now clean my hallway windowsill as I used to store stuff there - well maybe later:o
