you're all looking very busy! :)

I haven't been here since I finished my major decluttering in June. Its been good to have more space but I've decided I would like more space, so another layer of decluttering has just started. So far I've dumped 1 bag clothes + 1 bag books (cs) + 3 bags rubbish out for the binmen today :j

I have some major major decluttering session booked over the next few days - the airing cupboard, kitchen cupboards, the cutlery drawers and the craft room - again <sigh?> Will also be doing another quick swipe through the bookshelves and dvds

    Lyndy that's a great idea ;)
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

Spendaholic Chick - just looked up enviroclothes - have you used them lots?

I'm moving soon and having lost weight have lots of clothes to get rid of, if I can get a bit of money for them then great - anyone know of a similar thing in South Yorkshire?

Yesterday I did some more sorting in the spare room, tidied the ebay boxes so they are now stacked neatly and take up a bit less room, and got some more bits photographed ready for the next free listing day, including 2 old games consoles which are now neatly packed in a box in their original boxes. I put another 10 items in CS bag, and emptied another box from the loft, putting the contents and the box into recycling. The box itself was at least 20 years old, and originally contained 26 ounce glass bottles of squash!

Today I took 10 more used envelopes in to work for internal mail, along with a bag of old batteries for recycling, and took my dad's laundry back to him.

That's a great idea with the bookcase, Lyndy.

Doing quite well. This week so far I've bagged up 2 black bin bags for the CS, got rid of loads of paper into the recycling, chucked out about 1 black bin bag of broken toys/odds and ends. Still the house doesn't look any different but I feel better!

  • Hi everyone! I keep dipping in and out of this thread. Starting a major declutter at the moment though due to the prospect of moving soon. Starting small, I've been tackling my rather large makeup and toiletry collection full of brand new stuff I know I'll never use! 24 items have gone over the past month, with a lot more still waiting to be listed. Going to have a good old sort out of my room tomorrow and see what else can go.

  • I am decluttering my son back to uni today, does that count? Actually if you could all see the state of our lounge at the moment I think it would be agreed it does.:D

We have hired a van to get him there and he seems to be taking more back than ever. My husband keeps saying 'how is he going to get all this in his room.' I am more concerned with how it is all going to fit in the van. It is currently all over the lounge with a little trail of white dots that have escaped from a hole punch leading from his room, all down the stairs and across the lounge.

Next week we take his brother up to start in the same university. They do seem to like to stick together my boys.:rotfl:I might even be able to find the floor in their rooms and see the whole of the lounge floor again.

Until Christmas when they both come back again.

'Decluttered' my DD1 back to university this week - final year - now I can use her room again as my Ebay room so general declutter should be faster! :)

Well they got there safe and sound and it has taken me all afternoon and three sacks of rubbish to get his room straight again. Now I can pinch his desk to use for my lap top as the wireless reception is better in his room than downstairs. We will see him again next week when we have to visit to collect his brothers kitchen stuff, that went up in the van with them. That was one advantage of the boys both choosing the same uni, we could send some of the younger boys stuff up early to save space in the car.

I use them quite regularly as they're in teh car park of my local asda, but i'd only use them for stuff that can't be ebayed or sold other ways cos it's really crappy money - about 40p a kilo I think. Everything I've traded in has been either paint stained or ripped or just plain crappy that I think no one would buy! aren't they all over the country? I just assumed they were
