  • I flirt with decluttering but thought I would declare that in the last 2 days I have completely emptied the kitchen cupboards and binned everything :)....fresh start....now all the cutlery, crockery and glassware has been washed and scrubbed and neatly placed back in...and I'm only going to buy what I need for a few days max...all the old packets etc that were just gathering dust are now banished....and I'm using the kitchen as the beacon of hope for the rest of the house :)

    wish me luck :)

as an aside I've an old kids acoustic guitar which I've placed online but now am getting cold feet about selling....for a few reasons...1 DD might want to learn to play at some stage and then I'll have to buy a new one....2...sentimental I've had it since I was a kid...3 It could cost me more to buy it again...4. at £7 inc. case and book I might be giving it away too cheaply....

    all opinions welcome :)

    thanks Ella x

Haven't managed to get a lot of decluttering done in the past week or so but still trying to get rid of things as I come across them. PC which was replaced with a laptop recently is all disconnected ready to go to my dad tomorrow and my OH cleared a bookcase in the spare room that was full of my college work (still recent so I want to keep hold of it in case I ever manage to get a job in accounting!) by packing it all away in a box which is now in a cupboard -it's all about hiding and disguising! Bookcase has been turned on its back, castors added and is now under the bed to store handbags (top tip from the MIL!)

Best thing about all this decluttering is when I go into my wardrobe and drawers I can actually see what I have and it's all stuff I can wear and not full of holey socks that I was only wearing when I was wearing two pairs of socks in the winter - why!!!!!

    Winter boots
    Blackberries
    Two jars of jam
    Two belts for OH

    Out

Six empty jam jars (I was very happy to give empty jars to my Gran and get two full ones back - blackberry and apple jelly and red plum jam, yum!)
Half of the blackberries to sister
    Book returned to Mum
    Various brochures recycled

OH's stuff is still on the kitchen table. I am away for the weekend, so he had better have put it away before I get back!
