The Great Declutter Part 3 - 2011

Not a very good weekend decluttering wise - the theatre company we're involved with had their show last week and our hall way is now full of all the new props they've gained this time. Not very well packed into bags admittedly - just to get them out of the theatre quickly. So tonight's job is going through it all, some of it it rubbish/recycling (e.g. the wine bottles that were on stage can be recycled, I'm sure we can cope with drinking some more wine if some are needed....
I did however more or less complete our accounts yesterday - they badly needed doing, so lots of receipts shredded, other things filed, recycling and bin quite full = 1 tidy, empty desk, small box of things to redistribute round the house to do tonight then a pile to ebay - might investigate android app to see if I can do some easy stuff 'on the go'.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

One ebay parcel posted this morning
3 more selling and several others with no bids on
A big box of blu-rays and dvds have left the house this morning with OH and someone is coming to buy them off him today
OH sold a few bits on ebay too so the ones that have been paid for have gone for posting
I've got lots to do this week as it's DD2's 4th birthday on Thursday and she's having a couple of friends over for tea, then on Friday it's OH's Nanna's bday so we're having a joint party tea for DD and Nanna at ours - lots of food to buy and lots of decluttering, tidying and cleaning to do too! Oh, and yet another large pile of ironing to do...Extra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000

OK, not much but got rid of a carrier bag with old pens that don't work properly, old outgrown toys too worn out to pass on and a black bag of clothes not good enough to pass on but fine for recycling.
Just getting together another black bag of good stuff to go to the CS this week.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
All the stuff from the theatrre group got put away/thrown/recycled last night. More stuff in the garage but at least the hall way is clear!

In
Three books, an academic diary and a pretty little soap - me
Two books and a DVD - OH
The amount of incoming books lately is just silly! One is a course book, but the others are not necessary, I just love a charity shop/car boot sale bargain. I am having to put piles of books in front of other books on the shelves and there is absolutely no more space now! Therefore I am imposing a 'book one in one out' on myself! I can only have a new book if I get rid of another one.
Out
One Ebay parcel (there were five items in it though!)
Various brochures for clothes I can't afford, recycled0 -
No post today (Monday) so no decluttering to be had there...only food in which has been eaten as I'm buying daily at the moment..
No decluttering either - total lack of motivation - dull days...cold setting inanyone else really dreading the clocks going back etc?
Anyways got a few bits on ebay..7 day sales so not much going out the door for a while there either! - ebay seems dead as a dodo - scared I'll be stuck under this mountain of "i don't want to bin it, if i can sell it" stuff forever....
So with the thought in mind that I could make a few bob rather than bin everything I'm in a bit of a catch-22
Does anyone set themselves a deadline? Say if it's not sold in xx amount of time... you bin/donate? would be interested in hearing about it
good luck with decluttering today ladies xx0 -

I usually list on ebay 3 times in total and then bin/donate. Or maybe wait a couple of months then try again and then get rid.
I've just taken the last of my books from GM/Amazon to the charity shop. Most have been on for several years and I just needed the space back/don't want to move them if we do move.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
