The Great Declutter Part 3 - 2011

Oh dear, here I am again with very little to report. The spare room is now tolerable, some bits need to make their way to the attic - as they haven't done this alone I guess I'm going to have to do it myself. More positively, I've cleared all the rubbish in there by filling my bin each week. I did list some stuff on ebay and actually did quite well with them but now I find that I really can't be bothered with ebay so I need to get my mojo back and list the rest of the stuff. The craft room remains untouched apart from the occasional book being sold on Amazon.
Nice to see that everyone else is doing well thoughWhatever0 -
This evening I decluttered the pocket in my laptop bag
My laptop came with a remote control that slots into the side. It's seldom (never!) used, but regularly falls out, and has been on the edge of some shelves in front of storage boxes for the last couple of weeks. Since the laptop itself is now used as a back-up machine, it's seldom used either, so every time I wanted something from one of the aforementioned storage boxes I'd just move the remote control in front of another one, promising myself that I would return it to it's rightful place the next time the laptop came out. The sentence quoted above inspired me to drag the laptop bag out and replace the remote control. This must have taken all of thirty seconds

Afternoon All
Haven't posted for a while, but I lurk a lot for inspiration.
Am aiming for recycling/binning 100 things over the coming long weekend......think most of it will be from my wardrobe
I've 'said' it now so will have to stick to it!
EL
Bit of a delayed start due to other things, so my 4 days long weekend was Saturday to Today. Will do final count up this evening, but so far......
#1-3 ....newspapers to recycling
#4 .......pile of inserts/flyers/take-away menus to recyling
#5&6 ...empty toothpaste tube & empty toothpaste box to recyling
#6&7 ...empty bath/shower gel bottles to recycling
#8 .......old matress put in back of van ready to go to dump
#9-11 ...Video & DVDs given to parents
am sorting out clothes and books for charity bag, due to be collected tomorrow. not sure if will make the 100 things but am pleased with efforts so far!2018 AFD 23/240

Right I really need to get things back to some sort of order.
So far:
1. Old surround sound set, off to a charity shop that accepts electricals (charity)
2. Gift with purchase bag from Clarins (charity)
3. Some bags already sorted for the charity shop dug out from the understairs cupboard(charity)
Right then target time. When I was working to targets I found it pushed me that bit harder to think - do I really need this? Also it's hard to keep the house tidy again so that's telling me there's still too much stuff.
It's 3 May so I'm going to aim to:
---- get rid of 200 things in 10 days. So 20 things a day.
---- focus on the kitchen, master bedroom, lounge

Hi again everyone, been quiet on this forum for a while as I have actually been decluttering, but not listed it (too much and too lazy!).
However, I've now actually been through my wardrobe and am a bit more motivated to do the rest of the house. Don't know that there's 200 things left to declutter, but I'll have a jolly good go. Might take me more than 10 days though due to other commitments.
Does anyone else find though, that the more you get rid of, the stuff that's left seems to multiply while you're not looking?Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Got up early & did the tidying that had been hanging over me for most of the day yesterday, in less than an hour. Nice to come back from work to a reasonably tidy house. Especially as I'm definitely feeling like I'm coming down with something & have flopped on sofa.
In
2 tops for DS from CS
bikini top
pack of trainer socks
Out
13 more books for CS
t shirt for csHave nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.

Glad I was able to give some inspiration! I'm just the same sometimes, for instance about a month ago I took some pins out of some material I found in the cupboard, and instead of putting them in my pin cushion I just left them on the lid of an old ice cream tub in the cupboard, and this afternoon I finally put them in the pin cushion, again it took a few seconds, lol!
Today I sorted out my books, put all the ones I need to read, (and some that I've read but want to keep) on the bookcase which I cleared and cleaned over the weekend, and I've found 19 for CS, some of which are quite big. While I was in the cupboard, I found 3 double quilt covers and a pack of playing cards for CS, and a brand new disney stationery set which is now in the ebay box, also a VHS video player which has been cluttering up the room for months has now gone via freecycle.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

I never did get round to decluttering my office the other day. Yesterday however i completely gutted Ds2's room. I went through all the toy boxes and even under the bed. Ds1 had a good sort of his room as well. So my list is looking like this now
In
2 books from my Sister
Groceries
Make up
Plastic cups etc
New trainers for Ds2
A dvd for Ds2
Out
2 recycling bags full of crap from Ds2's room
1 black bag of crap from Ds2's room
3 black bags of crap from Ds1's room
Ds2's old trainers went in the charity bin at Clarks
Pending
3 books for my Sister
24 books,
1 Dvd,
4 Toys,
21 magazines
and
a door hanger waiting to go to the Charity shop
The toy corner downstairs is next on my hit list and then it'll be my office. I was quite surprised that Ds2's room only took me 3 hours, i thought it would take days.0 -

Anyone else want to join in? Or add your own challenge?:j
1. Bag, never used... bought from a charity shop (charity shop)
2. Three x Dry cleaning bags removed from clothes and used as stuffing for bag above (charity)
3. Old OH t shirt (charity)
4. Cardboard packaging (recycling)
5. Broken peppermill - emptied contents into another peppermill and recycled the glass and plastic (recycling)
6. Out of date food (bin)
7. Old bra! (charity)
8. Clip frame (charity)
9. Bubble wrap packaging, not before popping one or two bits... (used as wrapping for glass frame above - charity)
10. 11. Rubbish bits from bathroom, hanging around, all ruddy empty, mixture of (bin) and (recycling)
A slow start - I need to get to 20 a day, but already things that have been bugging me like the clip frame sitting on the stairs for weeks, have now gone.
And how's this for karma - dropped off loads of bits today to the charity shop - and I managed to get 3 tops (I never hardly ever get any clothes) and a L'Oreal mini shampoo set. Woo hoo for karma! Just need to make sure 3 items of clothing now leave this building.
