Hi everybody, nothing major has happened here because most of my clutter is now packed away in plastic tubs under the beds and in the attic. 'Out of sight out of mind' maybe? I plan to maybe go through a box a month until that is down to the bare minimum too.

Still, a couple more small steps. I have sorted out my wardrobe, so it is much easier to find things and ruthlessly cleared out some much loved well worn items that really have seen better days and ebayed a couple of good things that I no longer wear.

Last night, I did an inventory of our fridge, freezer and store cupboard and again had a ruthless clear out of firstly things that have gone out of date and also things that if I am honest I knew would never get used. Tonight I need to do a meal plan and maybe May might end up being a good month for keeping the shopping budget under control as well

It is really strange, when I joined this thread everything in my house felt so out of control. Now it feels like I am in control again and the more I do the more I want to do :T

    Hi,

I'm in the mood for decluttering my office/junk room/dumping ground.

It's a right mess so i'm going to have a shower, get my dailies done and then get stuck in. I may take a before pic if i'm brave enough.

I did most of what I intended to do on Wednesday, I took the portable tv off the worktop, and cleaned all the dust and cobwebs off it and off the worktop, washed the tiles and worktop, then put the clean tv back. The pile of paperwork from the hall table was put in recycling/to be shredded, also sorted all of DS’s school books for recycling/shredding, while sorting this paperwork I’m keeping any blank pages for scrap to write lists, notes etc on.

I did more than my intended amount of ironing, so the basket in our room is now only about half full instead of piled high with stuff waiting to be ironed! I was helped through this by watching one of my Darren Hayes DVDs while doing it, as everything goes better with Darren, lol!

My washing machine drawer is cleaner than it was, but still needs a bit of cleaning, I also cleaned the cavity where the drawer goes, it was really gungy, lol, and I ran the machine on a hot wash to clean it. I also washed the bath, tiles and skirting in the bathroom, and our old all-in-one printer, scanner copier has gone via freecycle, along with 3 software discs and original paperwork, so we have a little more room in the shed.

I didn't get to do the shredding or photographing ebay stuff on Wednesday, but I did photograph the ebay stuff on Thursday afternoon, when I get home from work, and I was going to do the shredding yesterday but didn’t get around to it, so I finally got that out of the way today, shredder filled and emptied twice.

This morning OH took a large box, 2 bin bags of clothes, and a foot stool to CS. The foot stool is what MIL gave us years ago and was in recent years just gathering dust behind the dining table, and for the past year or so has been in the shed. OH has been wanting to get rid of it for ages but I kept hanging on to it, I think he was glad to finally see it going. Also today OH took all the recycling to the recycling centre.

Just got rid of a large box full of recordable videos to a nice man via freegle.

    Morning all,

I had a day off yesterday and spent most of the day in town. Today I am aiming for packing 1 box with kitchen stuff for our move. The car is full off empty cardboard boxes to be taken to the recycling point when we go food shopping later today. I handed in a bag of expired medication to the pharmacy while in town yesterday so I seem to make small progesses every day.

    Good luck with your decluttering.

Too hot for me to run around doing 10 minute challenges! :rotfl:However, interested in your library book.....what's it called, and who's it by?

    Many thanks, NicNocs
Hi NN - OMG been missing again. Here's a link to the book - 10 minute clutter control:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/10-Minute-Clutter-Control-Room-Effective/dp/1592331459/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1304276837&sr=1-1

Borrowed it from the library so I don't add more books to my clutter!

Just catching up to see how everyone else is doing :j You guys have been busy! I've not felt well for a few days but you're all inspiring me to pick up the decluttering baton again. It feels so good.

Must say Kaz that you're capsule wardrobe is amazing! Love the idea of less stuff, better quality. I've sorted my stuff into colours so that's a start.
