Yep, that's what I use - folder with plastic pockets. I've got one with all of the recipes cut out of magazines/printed off the internet that I keep on a shelf in the pantry. It's out of the way, but also fairly easy access if you need to refer to it, and preferable to having bits of paper floating about in drawers.
I've given myself a couple of days off decluttering as I had two teeth extracted yesterday!I did put a book ready to take back to sister, but forgot to take it!
Thanks Callisto for your response. Hope you are feeling ok after having 2 teeth extracted. No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

Another day that brings the sun shining. How great is that for the easter hols :T.
Today i am going to do the trolley that i said i would do yesterday:o
Yesterday I ended up decluttering my bathroom and wiping down areas that havent seen daylight in months.I also decided to get rid of some crockery that was hogging space in my `twee` kitchen.I also need to do the usual household duties that bore me to death. The rest of the day will be spent trying to occupy the children and maybe going to the park.I am still quite overwhelmed by the thought of decluttering and have to remind myself that one thing at a time will bring results. What i mustnt do is give up and be back to sqaure one.Have a good day everyone.:)“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Lots of decluttering going on here.

Well, am in the parental home this weekend and we are having a day of intermittant decluttering ahead of clearing up for guest this weekend.
Thus far we have tackled the card mountain (birthday, Xmas, anniversary, Get Well etc and most have gone for recycling altought the last Xmas card from a relative who passed away this week has been saved....always room for a wee bit of sentimentality IMO.Some surfaces in the living room are slowly emerging into the reach of the duster but it's a slow old process and I can be limited help as it's not my stuff.
Off my premises and into their recycling bin: 4 small aerosols and a tetra-pak.
Coming out of their home and into mine; plastic bags, milk bottles to use on the lottie, a planter for same.
Mega declutter: an absolutely huge piece of hobby equipment has left my Mum to go and live with a friend-of-a-friend in a deal which arose from a chance converstation. No money changed hands but both parties are absolutely chuffed. Result.
Happy de cluttering over Easter.
PS I broke a glass at home and don't need to replace it so that makes 5 off the premises this week.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

I have managed to clear the dining table of clutter and fold it up. Giving me more space in the front room. I have managed to throw away lots of bits of cut up paper and "dead" play dough!
I have put things in the work room, where I want them to be, as apposed to just dumping them in there, which would be my normal habit.
Washing is next on the adgenda. the clean needs folding and taking upstairs, and the wet needs to go on the line. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
not been around for a while. But have been watching making space on 4OD. So getting ideas for storage.
So as mentioned on another thread. Had a massive manic time in the back bed room this morning. Stuffed things in to free lidded boxes from work:j
I know but will deal with the contents later.
Over the last couple of days:
IN:
More lidded boxes (now chucked under the stairs:rotfl:)
Out:
A old bathroom cabinet broke it up to put in the bin which they collected today:eek:
2 X bin liners of rubbish
Pending:
2 X bin liners of rags for cs
Husband is shredding as I speak.

having almost reached retirement I find myself with masses of equipment and materials from my work in teaching craft. I am finding it scary to de-clutter in case I am asked to do another workshop and although the clutter did not cost a fortune it did take a long time to collect for the classes.
I have a front room full of bags and boxes of craft stuff and feel in a real panic as I don't know how to start dealing with it.
I am sure some of you will have dealt successfully with a similar problem - praps you can help - Please?0 -
Chester drawer tidied up today, looks so much better now. I shredded a bit more paperwork but still have some to sort out. All washing done today and still another 3 days off to go. Hurray. No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23

Anjelika I so know here you're coming from on this one. I used to do the odd workshop after having given up that line of work but it gradually tailed away as I moved into other things.
It's a toughie as anyone who crafts knows and there are no easy solutions. My best advice would be not to go cold turkey and lose the lot but that would be too painful. I'd suggest looking at what kind of storage you have in your home and how much of it you are prepared to devote to your materials. Then decide on some suitable containers and keep an inventory of each type of material in a quantity that feels OK for you. It may be in a year or two you'll want to review your stock and see if you can find a user for some of it. I find it easier to part with something if I know it will be used, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy as I like to share and detest waste.
Whatever you choose to do, good luck!Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
