I am also doing one room at a time. In the new year, I have decluttered

    - almost everything in the spare bedroom( only 1 drawer left to do)
    - bathroom

Have 3 bags full for CS( one clothes and one shoes)

Kitchen seems a very daunting task at the moment so I will tackle the master bedroom first and then move to other rooms
  • Anyone want to see some photos before I start decluttering in earnest when the kids go back to school??? I have to warn you, my house would be a challenge for even Kim & Aggie (not dirty, just very very cluttered)......

    I'm joining in again.

DH has decluttered the spare room pretty well and I have a bin bag for the charity shop.

I want to tackle the kitchen today and get rid of any remnants of Christmas food!

I've made a start on the kitchen :j. So far I have sorted a couple of boxes of stuff ready for a car boot sale (may do one this weekend if the weather is dry, they run all year round here :D).

Just a bit more to do now, a couple of cupboards and some moving around of various bits and pieces, it's already looking much tidier and less cluttered !

I've also managed to clear a shelf in the utility area that I will probably use for stockpiling should anything I use regularly be on offer.

I'll make a start on my books later this afternoon, I have loads of cookbooks but I can't bear to part with any of them :o. I'm sure there are a couple that I don't use though so I may have to be ruthless !

well i pulled out all the stuff from under my bed and seeing as it was all hubbys junk like videos, dvds etc i only threw away 4 books of mine and a couple of scraps of paper but its tidyer and at least i know ds1s swimming stuff isnt under there, so need to look elsewhere for that now

I love this thread & have previously been a lurker but this year I must actively declutter then we will actually be able to move in the house.

I must start with all baby & toddler clothes & accessories (dd1 is 7 & dd2 is 6) I had some success last year with selling some bits but really need to clear a lot more.

I have spent all of this morning sorting out paperwork & receipts & updating expenditure spread sheets so lots of shredding to do now.

Good luck to you all with your decluttering, I find your posts a good incentive to get some of mine done
